> **Justification**
Feature: Generate db pattern files for selected tables
Encapsulate the database access. So that the developer can use a fluent environment.
Example now in vba the database access for fields looks like this rs("fieldname"), rs!fieldname
You have not a central place to make a change in your code.
This feature could help to write a cleaner code.

**Description**
I thought you can make a special pattern for Dao db connection.
first thought:
To have an interface IDbConte

@mansellan still alive, getting swamped again... fml
that sucks.
At least you're still alive to be swamped...
How's the new job hunt going?
@FreeMan always the optimist.
haven't heard back from the recruiters, didn't bother following up.. not really looking either, for now anyway (I suppose I'll hit "emergency mode" when the ship finally sinks)

@BigBen Whenever possible!
@MathieuGuindon pokes the sleeping bear...

> This would fall under this issue: #4549 which deals with this request in more general fashion. You already have the ability to add user defined template but right now it's static code import with no parameterization support. That needs to be developed but before that can be done, a specification need to be defined for how the template will be parameterized. We can look to the [T4 template files for inspiration](docs.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/modeling/…
@MathieuGuindon when you're less swamped, would be interested to hear what you think of twinBasic

In VBA-landia for forms is there a way to select CheckBox5? Choosing definition gives me a missing F3Dynamic dialog.
21:19
@IvenBach by select do you mean toggle the check?

UserForm.CheckBox5.Value = Not UserForm.CheckBox5.Value
As in select it when in design mode so I don't have to Select. Every. Single. Control.
That way I can avoid having to check every (Name) property.
You want to print the name property for each one? Or just select multiple?
You can highlight a group of objects with a selection box
like drag select
If you have a large number of objects it can be advantageous to create them in a loop. A similar looping through all objects looking for TypeName = Checkbox you could print the name property
I should take a step pack and explain a bit more.
I'm reviewing a workbook created by someone else. They have a from they are using to enter information. On the form are several controls.
The controls left the default name TextBox1, TextBox2, etc..
I'm attempting to update the form to make it more maintainable. My first is to rename the controls.
When I'm looking at the coding pane and have Activesheet.Cells(1,1).value2 = Form.Control.Value I'd like to be able to right click on Control and choose Definition to be taken to the displayed from with that control selected.
And it doesn't ?
The only thing that comes to mind is setting the name to match the Caption. You would have to strip illegal characters from the Caption, like space, but then you could automatically name everything as it is displayed. (Wouldn't work with textbox where you would need to look at the label)
Aha! I just reproduced your problem! I've never seen that error
I've never tried to do that before
21:35
I rarely work with forms. As such I'm a blind pig when it comes to working with them efficiently.
I think the issue is that you are trying to get to a GUI location from the code pane. I don't think that happens.
So automating the action, like I suggested, might be your only recourse for access from the codepane.
I just realized the RD code explorer can't even take you to the form editing GUI
You have to use the classic Project Explorer to even get that window open.
Looks like RD rename can't help either.
Or maybe it can...
Yes, verified. You can right click and do a RubberDuck > Refactor > Rename. and it will change the object name without ever visiting the Forms GUI
I tried that and it previously wouldn't let me. Even made sure of it with two parses to be belts-n-suspenders sure. Now it is. That's a big bowl of WTFies.
21:51
Yeah, the first time I tried it was greyed out. Then it worked the second time.
Thanks for confirming I'm not alone.
