^ is 100% the problem. EVERY time I go to my inlaws, I sit down at their computers and run through all the updates. My MIL looks at me and says "I just can't remember which ones you said it's OK to update, so I don't do any".
I suppose I need to do some screen captures of the "OK" ones, make a document and print it out for them. "If you see this name/message/logo, it's OK to update."
I guess that is better than accepting everything and having them install random/malicious crap that I then have to clean up
