I agree with you when you write, "It would be an interesting question to consider if the State could seize my copyright under proceeds of crime legislation but that’s beyond the scope of this question." It would be a very interesting question. IMHO the State absolutely should do this whenever reasonably possible, if simply throwing these criminals in jail is not an option anymore. I wonder whether anyone has asked this question on Stack Exchange yet?
