It's in the Acts 5:31 quote. Luke 2:11 is stating that Jesus, who has just been born, is that person who will be exalted as Savior. Was baby Jesus currently saving people when he was born? No, that happens later.

You use of Acts 5:31 is an invalid comparison to Luke 2:11. Peter is explaining that God had exalted Jesus, the very One they crucified to His right hand, to be a Prince (author, founder) and a Saviour, in order to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. Exalted means to be placed at a high or powerful level; held in high regard. At Luje 2:11 Jesus was already a Savior and Christ the Lord. In short, He already was in an exalted position. You can't be more exalted than the Messiah and Savior of the world. John 3:16.

Sure! Luke 2:11, again. "for today in the city of David there has been born for you "A" Savior, who "IS" Christ the Lord. He is not just any Savior but "THE" Savior according to the Jewish prophecies. Since He is already THE Savior, on this basis God highly exalted Him. This is what Peter is trying to explain to the Jews. Jesus is exalted because of His position of already Him being the Messiah. Remember, the Jews did not believe who Jesus was, i.e The Messiah and the Son of God. This is why they crucified him for blasphemy at Matthew 26:57-66.

@Mr.Bond I don't really understand what you're saying here. Yes, Jesus = the prophesied saviour. He is the person referred to. But the 'activation' of that capacity doesn't happen until later. Note 'in order to'. It's something that doesn't happen until Jesus is exalted.

OTG Since Jesus Christ is already the Savior and Chrit the Lord which the Old Testament attest to what does it matter at what point (as you stated) that He is activated. In short, you have the cart before the horse. Look at it this way by way of example. God promised Abraham to multiply his descendants that they are to many to count. He was already exalted/used by God but he never saw the results. The Messiah was through his bloodline.
