A: Beamer, Beamerposter and the TUGraz theme: compilation issue

Joseph WrightThe linked theme (TUGraz) has been designed such that an \institute is required. Thus with the minimal example \documentclass{beamer} \usetheme{TUGraz} \author{Stuff} \begin{document} \begin{frame} \end{frame} \end{document} an error is seen (plus ones concerning missing colour and logo f...

Thanks! That is right. But when I try the full code (take a look at the edited question) I still get a compilation error. Any idea?

@Leonardo That is essentially a different question! With the example you've added, the only errors I get are the previously-noted ones about missing graphic files, etc. Do you get an error with exactly the example you've posted?

Yes! In the second example I get Undefined control sequence referencing the line \end{frame}. =S

@Leonardo It will be pointing to something else: can you edit in the log file you get?

Done! I hope it could help.

7:56 PM
@Leonardo This looks like a version issue with, possibly, hyperref. Try updating your MiKTeX system.

Hi Joseph!
I think the same
thanks a lot for your help
In fact, in windows XP I have no problem

@Leonardo It will depend on the exact versions of each package you have installed
That's where a complete log file comes in

I updated all my miktex system but it seems not be working

@Leonardo Did you update as a 'user' or using the Admin version? Ideally, you need to do both

Just in admin version

8:02 PM
@Leonardo Do it as both: if MiKTeX has installed a package 'on the fly', it won't be as admin and then won't get updated otherwise

i tried to upload the entire log file but i couldnt because of the number of characters
i'll try it

@Leonardo E-mail it me: joseph.wright@morningstar2.co.uk

This is pdfTeX, Version 3.1415926-2.3-1.40.12 (MiKTeX 2.9) (preloaded format=pdflatex 2011.6.19) 25 SEP 2011 21:12

that's the entire log file

@Leonardo Give me 5 minutes:-)

Ok, thanks a lot!

8:10 PM
Could you add \listfiles to the start of your .tex file, then post the 'File list' you get at the end of the run?

Ok, I'm on it =)
Sorry, Joseph. what is the file list exactly?
I find the same files, the same log, everything is as before

@Leonardo At the end of the log you'll have a 'table' which starts *File List* and ends ********. It has all of your file versions in it.

I don't have it

@Leonardo Did you add \listfiles to your .tex file?
(At the beginning)
You'll need to press Enter to get past the Undefined control sequence error

yes, i did it, but i find no changes
and the error message is displayed at the end of the compilation
=S
Now i'm updating my system in user mode

8:25 PM
@Leonardo From memory, there was a bug in beamer 3.10 which was fixed in 3.11
It might be that
(I have the latest beamer, so of course won't see this)

the problem is solved
updating in user mode solved the problem
Thanks a lot for your help, Joseph

@Leonardo Not a problem

What have I to do now? How do I must edit my question?
