EthanWe currently have 2 people that publicly announced that they are planning on nominating themselves for the election. Amandine Gasc expressed interest in nominating here. Taiki Sakai expressed interest in nominating here If you are interested in nominating please add yourself to this list. And i...

a community wiki???

@HenryWHHackv3.0 Good idea. Before I do are people pingable here even if they never joined the room? Its just so we can ask people if they were suspended incase they don't know about that requirement to nominate.

Nope... you must enter a room to be pingable. It also timeout after 7 days.

Got it. I just remember they would be pingable in the comments if they edit

@SamuelLiew Do you know why since all the info needed for it is public?

Can a mod give their input on this answer?

2:11 PM
@Ethan because it's a intensive operation, up to three API calls per request, so we have to prevent abuse because SE API has rate limits
weird, the bot doesn't keep alive nowadays

@SamuelLiew Got it

2:33 PM
ah, bot thinks election is over and keep leaving the room. just gotta set it to wait much longer

@Ethan Ha I came to ask the same but you beat me :)

3:31 PM
What is my candidate score?

@AmandineGasc Your candidate score is 1 (out of 40). You are missing these badges: Civic Duty, Cleanup, Constituent, Convention, Copy Editor, Deputy, Electorate, Enthusiast, Explainer, Investor, Marshal, Organizer, Quorum, Refiner, Reviewer, Sportsmanship, Steward, Strunk & White, Tag Editor, Yearling.

@Ethan I don't want to make an account just to comment so here are my 2$ : On Stack Apps, a very low traffic site, I have to search for things to moderate. Now my fellow mod is Glorfindel so he takes most of the flags so I usually end-up nuking spam profiles, editing wiki's, re-tagging and some occasional reviewing in the 30 minutes I spend per day for moderation duty. I doubt with a crew of 3 you would have to spend a full 30 minutes each day to keep things under control.
Worth remembering that as a mod you're a janitor only, an exception handler. let the community do the bulk of the (busy)-work.
/cc @selene see ^

@rene Added that as a comment

thanks!
some numbers form Stack Apps: last quarter for the whole mod team (3 mods) we handled 13 flags, 18 comments and 5 posts deleted, 12 posts closed, 42 edits and I send 861 mod messages .... (all profile spammers that got nuked)

@rene what are some common things mods send messages about?

@Ethan on Stack Apps it is only spammers
but on other sites it might be about Code of Conduct violations

ok

5:33 PM
or posting low quality stuff at an alarming rate
or other out of order behavior or interaction with the site and/or its users.

Got it.

A mod message is the last step in escalation. Before that comments got exchanged, maybe a chat with a user, etc.

I made another comment that you are sharing some more data and stuff here and recommended them joining and ask questions here

Ok!
For getting an idea of the "moderation workload" you might go over the posts found with stackexchange.com/search?q=year+in+moderation and then compare site size (traffic /users) and the stats.

@rene thanks...all of that is really helpful and will be useful for our potential nominees. @ethan thanks for copying over to the BA Meta!

On my side, I wont nominate myself as my suspension appeal has not been accepted. But will keep going on editing/flagging/etc on the site. Anyway it seems that enough people are interested to run the election, that's 3 with Dan and maybe 4 with Carly!
