From what I understand, coherent sampling is the relationship between the input signal frequency, sampling frequency, and the buffer length (the number of samples acquired). The sample buffer has to contain an odd (or prime) integer number of of the periods of the input signal.
Does the phase of the input signal where sampling starts matter?
Say the input signal is a pure sine wave. Does it matter if I start sampling at 0deg or 90deg?
[As far as I understand, it shouldn’t matter. Please correct me if I'm wrong.]
