Because of the circumstances, I figured it was probably better to post here than the main TRPG room, but WotC has made official that Mike Mearls is no longer part of the D&D RPG Team, per Enworld.
Apparently he was moved off the team to a different part of WotC sometime last year.

That seems... underwhelming. Sounds like they're shuffling him to an IP where the consumers will be less likely to remember his history.
