Hey guys, so, I'm at ubuntu live usb, and I still cannot open the files

it says permission denied, I'm going to look at the permissions and maybe change them to 777, if I remember correctly?

And I still cannot open them, any suggestions?

I'm noticing that I can actually open some of them

Could it be that they are damaged?

So, while I was able to copy the folder to another location, only 6 gigs out of 30 were copied. A 0 kb copy was placed of all the files that cannot be copied.

So I'm going to try going back to windows 7, but I will use steps described here support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/… , because eventhough upgrade was 4 days ago, Go back to windows 7 options is now showing in Windows Recovery.
