@BrettWhite works for me if you can spare the words amongst your writing elsewhere :)
@JackBNimble I think it is worth trying, yes. Someone suggested original fiction as an idea for the blog back when it was just an idea (but oddly I can't find that in meta anywhere now).
@JackBNimble are there legal issues about writing ST fanfic? Or are they ok with it? We do want to avoid lawyers knocking on the StackExchange doors ;)
@NeilFein re: older books: yes, absolutely, especially if they are positive reviews. I read way more older books than new ones, and I'm sure I'm fairly typical in this regard. (I would guess that it's less common to consume old TV/film, though I personally do that too).
@AarthiDevanathan way late response, but @BrettWhite can show you the stats whenever you want to see them (you CHAOS people are in the same physical location, yes?). He'll know what the rules are about what can be shared and what can't.
@NeilFein re: trello. It's good in many ways, except there's no way to integrate it. So you can use it for ideas and scheduling and transparency and so on, but you have to be careful to update it whenever anyone updates WordPress. Keeping in sync is a pain. Sadly, I have found no good solution yet. If Bicycles does, please share!
@NeilFein I still haven't wrapped my head around Trello notifications, either. I'm not sure exactly what I will get notifications for, and so whether or not they are useful enough - I don't want to have to periodically go to the web page to check if anything has changed.

C-c-c-combo breaker!
@TonyMeyer Now you can proceed with more messages.

@TonyMeyer - Haven't raised it with Bicycles for much the same reasons you cite; I was hoping you had figure out how to integrate Trello. If I get a brainwave pass it along, sure.

@TonyMeyer Parody and Satire are within the public domain, though I don't know if that's what his story will be. If he doesn't make money off the franchise, I doubt that he or SE would get sued over infringement.

@OghmaOsiris It would technically be infringement as it's a 'derivative work'. So unless TPTB for Star Trek have a stated policy, I'd recommend against posting it to the blog.

@TonyMeyer I'm not sure about legal issues, I know a lot of people write fan fiction for universes. I think as long as you aren't try to make money off it (selling it as a ST work) then it is okay.
