Hi there. This room, as you can probably tell, is frozen. That's because over on code golf meta, it was decided that The Sand Trap (this room, which I'll now refer to as TST) should be frozen for three weeks.

That's because we're seeing if not having TST as an option will impact activity in The Nineetenth Byte (TNB). In the mentioned meta post, it was hypothesised that TST has taken a lot of activity away from TNB for various reasons. The aim of this experiment is to see if a) activity increases in TNB and b) whether relaxing the treatment of off-topic in TNB is feasible.

Three weeks from now, this room will be unfrozen while the results of the experiment are discussed. In the mean time, don't ask any moderators to unfreeze the room, as it's intentionally frozen. And any moderators reading this: don't move messages here during the freeze period.

Note that there will still be noise control in TNB. After all, the chattiquette isn't changing, nor is any of the existing rules. But feel free to say things you'd say here over in TNB, and if needed, it can be moved into a temporary room, as suggested in this answer to the original question about whether TST should exist.
