Gaming
alrighty let's get this party started
@GingerIndustries Gaming
step 1: get a python LOLCODE interpreter
step 2: Gaming
HAI PXL
Should be the header
19:31
well first I need to find a Python LOLCODE interpreter that doesn't use Python 2 and is actually semi-well-designed
proving to be a bit hard
@GingerIndustries I made LOLCODE INTERPRETER!!!
import mathcat;mathcat.senitro("Interpret LOLCODE")
nvm it isn't
anyone else have anything?
alrighty I've found out something
It turns out that making a lolcode interpreter is like a final exam for some coding class somewhere called CMSC124
so as a result GH has become inundated with shitty interpreters making it hard to find anything that works
conclusion: send help
@taRadvylfsriksushilani do you happen to know of any good python lolcode interpreters?
19:51
No, I'd check esolangs
@taRadvylfsriksushilani I've been going through GH for like 10 min
i may have found a candidate
I am not having fun with this
Why not write your own?
@taRadvylfsriksushilani I am small brain basically
but I can try ig
hmmmm how to do this
@taRadvylfsriksushilani help would be appreciated
@taRadvylfsriksushilani yes
I've never made an interpreter for a lang like this
alr I have idea
20:13
I'm going to work on this later, if anyone here wants to take a crack at it PLEASE do
ya know, I have a (hopefully better) idea
the spec says that LOLCODE can have modules, maybe we should make one of those
We should make a LOLCODE package manager called ROFL (Running Other Features for LOLCODE)
lol
@taRadvylfsriksushilani the thing is, LOLCODE hasn't been updated in ~7yrs. I'd love to make an upgraded version but I just don't know how
if you do that would be very yes
20:30
The syntax looks super easy to parse
@taRadvylfsriksushilani it is, but I want to do it in a way that doesn't involve spaghet code
I'm going to look for a lexer package
Oh no
Well I'm gonna run away before things start catching on fire
@taRadvylfsriksushilani no please come back I need someone who understands regex

1 hour later…
21:50
@taRadvylfsriksushilani GOOD NEWS!
I stole a bunch of code and now it kinda works
Yay! Thievery for the win!
there are still infinite bugs and shit but I did get it to print "Hello, World!"
