@Novak The question did not arise from a weird edge case. The edge case made me think about how I am handling this whole class of problems of when I use rounds to track time, and when I should use rounds to track time, at my table
@Exempt-Medic Me writing my answer to that question certainly gave rise to me thinking about this class of problems and how I handle them at my table, which is where the question actually came from
@SeriousBri It's not just about the end of rest, that is just an example of one part of the class of problems related that arise when you need to, or may want to, use rounds to time things, without needing or wanting to use a strict initiative order. Using rounds in the end of rest situation enables me to be consistent in how I treat it with how I treat other very related situations
It is not a duplicate of the "which came first" questions, its a more general case of how do, or should I, approach the more general class of problems that would call for round timing to be used, which are not combat, and using the full initiative order would make the play experience at the table worse (at least in my opinion)
