goodmoring

nobody here

ye
bute here
if we do discussin herre
than anyonecancome
we shoud useit]

well, unfinished business re your GIS questions, that's only the line line intersection thing

hmmyes

h wow

you could see drawing?

oki have o look it

try menu [View -> Zoom in]
think of the two lines (red and blue) as really overlapping, not side by side

oh babs
its a good acilty
faciiy

7:15 AM
facility
:-)
well you have a better drawing tool in Word, but since your Word is Korean...
anyway, end point of blue line is in the middle of red line
in other words, boundary of blue line intersects interior of red line
and at the same time, part of the blue line is outside the red line
or in other words, at the same time, blue line intersects exterior of red line

yes
righ
but itink tverlp
i think itsverlp of ines

overlap of lines

well ok fne

7:23 AM
i think this situation is important to handle correctly in function that checks for intersection of interior of line L1 (blue) with exterior of line L2 (red)
now in the drawing below I've tried to show when blue line is contained within the red line:
as i understand it this is the only case where the interior of blue line does not intersect exterior of red line
is that correct?

hmmm
well yes

i hoped so

well yes

because then, if you were analyzing a function that determines intersection of interior of blue line with exterior of red line, then ...
this is the case that it must be checking

m yes
thna ihave a look to that function again

7:37 AM
i think that if i were to code such a function
then would first check if lines are parallell or not

ok wait
ahahn

they must be parallell to produce the case in the drawing

yes
ok wait
i talk wih ouafter some time

ok. maybe
cu

pleasedo't ind
i need theck y old mistakes
tha i will think about ths and new work

what is the mean of multi points in GIS context
???

10:46 AM
probably just "multiple points". e.g. for a "linestring" that means the possibility of more than 2 points

11:16 AM
yes
as i understand by the name of multipoint
that it means multiple points at same location
like cluster of starts
stars

don't think so. it's not used on its own. but you can say "multipoint line". for example.

the multilines word is used
not multipoint lines

it's the same thing, something that involves or is defined by multiple lines
you could just say "many" instead of "multiple"
like, "multicellular organism" → organism made of many cells
ok?

ok ok
jsut tell me that mean of multipoint

same thing. that means something that involves or is defined by multiple points
it's just general English
nothing in particular to do with GIS

11:28 AM
yar no
it have meaning
i have read
but i do't remember

multiple: "Having, relating to, or consisting of more than one individual, element, part, or other component; manifold."

hy babs
what mean by brb

2:56 PM
have u seen malaisya or srilanka on the map
malaysia is consist of small many islands
but in separate location
they r consist of 4 or 5 different island
what u will do do u digitize them individually
ok if u will digitize them in individual polygon u will have 4 records in a database
when u will query this data 4 rows of table will be selected
right
but it should be a single record for malaysia not 4
but wee need 4 polygon to represent malaysia
but need to be in a single record of a table
right
so we will use multipolygon option instead of a simple polygon
multipolygon can store no of polygon in a single records or row of a table
same with the case of multiline
and multi point
will represent mulitple points in a single record

3:12 PM
Alf please keep these all text in fac route
so that i can read it any time when i need it
ok bye
take care
babs
Alf remember keep stars on thses above text about multipoint and multipolygon
okok
please
please do it at least do this work for me
i expect a good respond from you

@tina: "educated ignorance" is when you have an education and because of that you believe you understand or know something, but you really don't understand it at all. perhaps the education didn't really teach you.
@tina: and no, no, and no again. get this. neither i nor anyone else is going to do your work for you. we're willing to help you. doing your work for you is the opposite of helping you.
