As mentioned in the Winter Bash FAQ page. Winter bash ends on January 5th... Is it January 5th UTC 23:59? Or January 5th UTC 11:59? Where winter bash would end? It isn't clear on the FAQ page.

Block out you schedule till Jan 1st. The WB takes a LOT of time. Silly things like work, life, Christmas festivities, school, etc can not get in the way. You will need upwards of 8 hours a day to get all the hats (way more before the eureka! type hat was ended).

fun fact: usually the hat server side api are left active for quite a bit even after the event ended.

If someone wants to try, you should be able to still see the hats (but not change/get new ones) for quite a bit by manually adding the same scripts that are used right now.

Tried once, a few years ago.

Q: Wrong usernames on the Winter Bash /stats page

In the public WB stats page, the usernames are incorrect. For example, "user1599751" is PeterJ, "user163529" is Shree, "user51" is Yaakov Ellis and so on.

@Xnero <shrugs>. Awards are based on when the scheduler ran it and we ran into some issues in the very beginning over-awarding glare-reducers that caused some timeouts. And the stats page will only show the first few folks who won it in the case of a tie.

How about making the network wide hat competition more inclusive for people that are not active on stackoverflow? Several of the hats have triggers that might seem reasonable for people participating on stack overflow, but are extremely difficult or next to impossible on other SE sites. Case in p...
