@PaulWhite missed the century in debut match

50 partnership
@AJ yeah, bit of a shame
350 up
Broad out for 42 (36) b Southee

A J
11:22 AM
Avenged.

Bairstow out! c Boult b Bracewell 162 (157)

A J
Quite hurting to not get a lead after that beginning.
@PaulWhite nice!

@AJ yes
351/9 (65.1)

A J
2 balls 2 wickets

Leach starts with a boundary. Of course
And another
lead now 30

A J
11:26 AM
Will Boult get five?
Let's see

Southee 2/100
360 all out
Leach 8 (7) lbw Southee
31 run lead for ENG
> Trent Boult (416) & Tim Southee (384) have taken 800 wickets between them in the 153 international games they've played together. All other NZ bowlers 870 wickets.

A J
11:42 AM
Not sure how long NZ gonna survive. They need to score at least 500 in the second inning. Not sure that would be enough to defend on 5th day
@PaulWhite all other? Those who are currently playing?

@AJ ALL others
@AJ Well that all rather depends. England could well have collapsed for less than 100 in their first innings. No way to know what could happen in their second. These games are incredibly difficult to predict.

A J
Yep
I thought NZ bowlers having really a good time at that time.
Didn't really expect the game to turn around like that
Latham ran 3

🙂
no duck this time

A J
11:59 AM
Boundary

Young yet to score

A J
NZ 13/0(5) Lunch

18 runs behind, good not to lose a wicket in that short time
Two full days and two sessions to go

2 hours later…
1:39 PM
Will Young 8 (19) c Pope b Potts NZ 28/1 (8)
NZ 60/1 (18) lead by 29

A J
2:01 PM
50 for Latham

ah good he needs that
85/1 (23)
Stokes' first over went for 15

A J
Good to see that they are making runs at better pace than the first inning
I think I didn't see any half-century from Williamson since WTC 21 final.

Sounds right

A J
That will be almost a year

Would have been a maiden for Stokes' second over, but Kane ran 3 on the last ball

A J
2:10 PM
Yep

@AJ In fairness, he has had the elbow injury

A J
Nice save
I am not criticizing him.

Oh I know, I'm just saying

A J
I have been waiting for a good knock from him

He's not been available to bat quite a bit

A J
2:12 PM
That's true
He is still young and has lots of cricket in him in my opinion.
Boundary from Williamson

@AJ hope so yes

A J
It will be nice to see him making good scores for his team once again.
Do you know he made a century in his debut test?

I had forgotten
100 up

A J
131 from 299 balls.
That was quite awesome.
back to back boundaries

@AJ Who was that against?

A J
2:16 PM
I've been a fan of him since then.
@PaulWhite India, 2010.

Ah, no wonder it stuck in your mind then
I was thinking maybe Sri Lanka
Gosh has he really been playing Tests for 12 years

A J
Yep.
He did almost 200 partnership with Ryder (I had to look up this name though)
and 100 runs with Vetori.

Vetori was so great

A J
Yep
Another boundary
Injury is a big obstacle in a player's career.

Agreed

A J
2:28 PM
two maiden overs from Leach
Broad is welcomed with a boundary.
Ah rain
Root gets a boundary.

Latham dropped by Root

A J
That was close
NZ 125/1 (33) Tea
28 overs, 112 runs, 1 wicket.
Exact 4 RR.

2:46 PM
Good session

A J
From NZ's point of view.
took 4 wickets and gave 96 runs
and now scored 125/1 in 33 overs.
Pretty good I'd say.

3:04 PM
Latham gone for 76 (100) c Bairstow b Overton
125/2 (33.1)

A J
Oops

😀

A J

3:33 PM
147/2 (38)

A J
22 runs in last six overs
3.5 rr
Broad gets the first maiden over
I read a joke when Cook was the captain.

go on

A J
> I love the English cricket team.... The thinnest guy is called broad, slowest fielder is trott, guy who is 'behind' the stumps is called prior, and guy whose father's name is john is called peter-son.
No doubt, this Cricket team deserves to be led by a Cook.
That's not the entire joke.
I remember parts of it.
Puns on their names actually
Looks like they have resorted to spin balling.
Jack Leach is back
Another maiden over from Leach
He has bowled almost 45% overs maiden
Looks like England team has 4 full-time bowlers.
Then they utilize either Stokes or Root as a fifth bowler.
It's raining

4:05 PM
@AJ very good
British summers 🙄

A J
4:16 PM
Conway out
152/3
