@MikeQ @V2Blast I was supposed to misty step that guy out of the bear's grasp, but for some reason last night I treated his misty step feature as the spell (bonus action) not the reaction that it is. That really made the encounter go wrongly (though you all did subde him, he really should be up in that window trying to get away from you). On the other hand, he did fail his charisma check vis a vis the impulse from that wand, so his "witch bolt right back at you" under duress was consistent

Sorry I gooned up the encounter that way; it should be, more or less, still 'active' but so it goes. NPCs make mistakes too, I guess. 😛
