TL;DR: start thinking about a L10 character, living in antiquity, friendly/partial to a god who has in is remit the sun, archery, oracular prophecy, the education of children, lawgiving, and herdsmen/shepherds.

@KorvinStarmast Go ahead and go nuts with sourcebooks. I'd prefer not UA (since I'm not really conversant with that material at all) and it doesn't seem like the best "baseline" to be playtesting against, but if something's your siren song, let me know.

@nitsua60 No UA from me ever unless there is a close consultation ahead of time. I have a player running the latest artificer and it's a real pain to DM. But he's having fun, and the other players don't mind his OP little genasi. I love that he picked a fire Genasi.

@nitsua60 As we are level 10, should we go into the DMG and possibly begin with a single magical item to begin with? Or do we start naked?

@KorvinStarmast I'm going to sort out "extra" gold and magic items after picking the kids up at camp--should be on discord within a few hours.
