13 hours later…
20:47
Ok so - localising certain parts are hard because they're not necessarily direct text replacements but cutting out and altering html. I'm thinking about this - anyone got any suggestions for solutions?
Which parts do you think about?
Parts like the relative time conversion:
`$('.relativetime').each(function(reltimebox) {
str = $(this).html();
items = str.split(" ");
if ( items.length == 2 )
{
$(this).html("il y a " + items[0]);
}
else
{
if ( items[1] == "hours" ) { items[1] = "heures"; }
if ( items[1] == "hour" ) { items[1] = "heure"; }
if ( items[1] == "mins" ) { items[1] = "minutes" };
if ( items[1] == "min" ) { items[1] = "minute" };
$(this).html("il y a " + items[0] + " " + items[1]);
}
});
`
I think in this case we should instead write a new time formatting function (or reuse the original one, it is somewhere on SO), from the absolute time which is in the title attribute.
(I actually already thought that yesterday in the evening, wondering about your "Il y a" everywhere.)
