@fredsbend the reason it violates YEC is that we see stars from millions of light years away. So either the universe is old, or it looks old, there isn't really a difference to the scientist.

the question we must ask ourselves is as follows: the universe looks very old. Either God has deliberately created the universe a few thousand years ago (as many as 10-20) and created it to look millions and millions of years old OR the universe actually is billions of years old.

@fredsbend Many people are annoyed, because YEC people tell outrageous (sometimes slanderous) lies. Many people are annoyed, because truth is beautiful, and the search for truth is fascinating, and the fascile stupidity of YEC gets on our nerves, and blinds people to how science works.
As an example, much of modern medicine is based on our understanidng of selection pressure on microorganisms, which apparently is news to you.

@fredsbend Have you seen this? Nothing in Biology Makes Sense Except in the Light of Evolution. It was written by one of the world's top biological researchers of the mid-20th century, who was also an Orthodox Christian.

@fredsbend YEC, if it were true, would invalidate not just evolution, but also geology, archaeology, paleontology, astronomy, and physics. We would have to wipe out most of modern science and start again from scratch.

Q: In Theistic Evolution when do the genealogies in Genesis become real?

fredsbendIn Genesis there is the genealogy of Adam to Noah, then the account of the flood. After that is the genealogy of Noah to Abraham. The accounts of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Jacob's sons then follow. After that is an unspecific number of persons to Moses. Theistic Evolution, I would think, must r...

Here's a perplexing issue I can't make sense of with Theistic Evolution ^^^ I look forward to the answers.
Genesis, although it is argued, does not look like a poetry book to me. It does not look figurative like Job or Song of Solomon.
I'll try to get to all you guys in time. Coming down on the lone YEC guy. I guess I need to recruit a few people to help me out here.
