@joojaa have you fallen into the AI art sinkhole as well? ^^'
@Scott are there actual legal standards in place or its just eyeballing?
Like for cinema, I think the actors names have to be a third of the height of the movie title?

@curious just based on 20+ years of varying clients.. there are no standards. Most of the time, there's one rather large disclaimer in a piece, then on various pages there may be "see disclaimer on pg X" as a footer. This is sufficient 90% of the time. At times there's an additional sentence added to a few pages with specific financial data on them.
This particular legal team requested all disclaimers be set in the same font and pt size as text in the piece. That's fine. I don't like it, but okay. I accommodated and visually made them clearly separate. Now they've come back with.. they all need to be bold and all uppercase.
Then they come back with "that long (1/2 pg) disclaimer needs to appear twice in the piece" It's only 20 pages.
I seriously can't help but think they are just being lawyers and forgetting the POINT is to sell something. Disclaimers shouldn't be the focus. Any lawyer worth his fee can argue that the disclaimers ARE present and if the reader missed them, it's the readers fault.
I'm over a barrel.. I can complain, but it just makes me look like a problem. No one else really cares that much because they are vested int eh rhythm and flow of the piece. Legal is telling client how to avoid headaches, which they surely want to do. TO the client just takes legal suggestions as "gold" when they clearly aren't.
It's similar to me asking the client to have a piece rewritten so that page breaks fall EXACTLY where I want them to fall or so that I can use specific artwork I want to use.
Sorry.. just kvetching really. :)
I did call and ask the client if there was an issue creating more disclaimer concerns.. apparently 3 separate legal teams looked at this piece.. so they are all really just being "fingerprint" lawyers.. wanting to make a change for the sake of making a change, not because it's actually necessary.

You can delete all that ^^^^ :)

Half page disclaimers O_o
@Scott I recall a client who wanted a vcard in QR code form on his business card. It was like 2"X2"
Thanks for ruining my design ^^'

yeah.. and it's entirely pointless clutter. (and half page is small, I have one client with a full, letter-size, page disclaimer in every piece.)
I think the most frustrating aspect is that I'm 2 or 3 steps removed from the legal teams.. So I can't explain ANYTHING to them or make an argument against their direction.
