hey peeps

is there a way to attach guides to specific layers or layer groups (folders) in Photoshop?

or is that not supposed to be possible and I should try a separate file approach?

basically I wanna toggle visibility of a folder and make that also toggle visiblity of the guides in that folder so they don't all appear at once making it impossible to distinguish between guides from each folder

I'm guessing I should try putting each part of the collage into a smart object and have it be its own file with its own guides, but then I won't be able to see the guides on the composite image file

idk if photoshop is intended for this kind of usage approach

maybe there's a better image editor for this kinda stuff
