Why is it that every time I see somebody mentioning that they are using paint bucket, i also see that they argue about their answers. Seriously do you guys use paint bucket tool for ANYTHING?
I have a client who really wants something like this but unable to find a better quality anywhere. Is there a way to recreate this effect in photoshop or illustrator?
Thanks!
Could be. I'm from Belgium, so about all I know about American fraternities is that they use Greek letters for some obscure reason and they drink a lot...
I am the tech lead on a new consumer product for the Asian market (mainland china, HK, et al). We are looking for a graphic designer to take responsibility for both the product design and overall look of the brand. Before we commit to anyone, we'd like to take a look at some rough ideas they migh...
I keep reading it is poor practice to use the PHP close tag ?> at the end of the file. The header problem seems irrelevant in the following context (and this is the only good argument so far):
Modern versions of PHP set the output_buffering flag in php.ini
If output buffering is enabled, y...
I setup a child theme which works fine. It's importing the main style.css and has custom css styles along with custom header.php and footer.php files
When using functions.php in a child theme it's going to append the child themes functions.php to the main theme. Do I need to wrap my functions in...
trying to learn how to handle the JSON really. All the research I've done appear to be making a request every time, I'm wanting to learn how to call the JSON file for what I need in timed increments, like every 5 mins
trying to understand JSON usage and also prevent hitting my call limits on a site.
my goal this weekend is to create a wp site that pulls etsy into a widget and create a page that pulls an instagram feed and profile image. Then I will dive into creating a realtor app that pulls JSON into a site..
etsy is done but Im unsure if fwrite($fp, $jsonified); fclose($fp); will be allowed.
yeh as long as your getting the response from the API ok you dont really need to worry about it.. just use json_decode() to turn it in to an array then store it in the db as you would anything else
json_decode to turn it in to array(or object maybe) is the key
I want to read JSON data coming in to a server that has just enough PHP installed to run WordPress. I can create new .php files, but I don't have the admin permissions to add any libraries that aren't already there.
What's the easiest way to grab & parse the JSON data out of an http request in ...
I am trying to decode a JSON string into an array but i get the following error.
Fatal error: Cannot use object of type

Here is the code:
<?php
$json_string = 'http://www.domain.com/jsondata.json';

well the issue is Im not always going to be able to use wp so that is why Im waiting to also figure it out with JavaScript and save it to a file to call on.. so learning both ways would be helpful
then I would probably start with server side and ignore the JSONP stuff
server side is going to be PHP
clients can't run PHP, so that's where the JSONP comes in to play
server side PHP tutorial: https://www.etsy.com/developers/documentation/getting_started/requests client side JS tutorial: https://www.etsy.com/developers/documentation/getting_started/jsonp
The saving to the db part should be trivial. Just save it as an option as you would any other option in your widget or site or custom field if it's related to a specific post etc. As soon as you've got the JSON response and turn it in to an array, that's all it is, an array, you can forget it came from JSON
You're right that outside WP you would need to worry about other stuff like writing to a file etc but if your in WP and PHP there's no need for any of that
According to this meta post questions in the general form of how do I do X are frowned upon because they tend to be brainstorming questions without a solid or clear answer.
Conversely, this meta post states the questions asking for tutorials about achieving a certain effect get useful answers (a...
I disagree with the e100 in general (specific cases it may be appropriate) because that could mean that we are editing in content, changing the nature of the question itself.
Instead, I suggest we categorize questions differently:
There are two types of classification: style identification an...
