Going to shoot all sorts of stuff I have around my place to start with for practice and maybe put some on stock website to see what happens. Then going to start planning bigger things. Probably nature / flowers but more planned and fabricated
hmm just put the first dry run into the computer. Too many shadows on the backdrop and can see a seam in the base I put down. Going to have to make some adjustments
I've got more lights I can clamp to the backdrop still that should work and the seam in the base I should be able to get a bit better in camera still too
yeah just testing things right now. Thought two of the tiles I bought would fit in it but bit too big. Might cut them down so I can fill the base and that will help get more options too
[smacks tablet upside the head] I've tried everything the Internet can think of to get this thing's USB connection more stable, and nothing works for long.
My father used white umbrellas to diffuse his portable lights for a similar effect because he was often shooting much larger things on-site rather than in a studio.
I've got umbrellas and reflectors and all sorts of stuff still.
First goal is figuring out space.
The 135 seems a lot better for this. Just plugged it in to see. I might have to try taking a few with it. The biggest issue is chromatic aberration but that shouldn't be a huge deal shooting inside anyways
or I can see the 85mm switching it to APS-C since my camera can do that
I think if I rotate both those track lights straight down it could improve the shadow cast too
I also just realized this entire setup might work better on the floor.. got a small hallway from my bedroom to a bathroom that I might be able to setup in better
Think I may have just solved it. Instead of using my dining room table at all I think setting up in a small hallway I have might actually be better
@ZachSaucier yeah maybe. I'll wait to see what Mac unveils tomorrow. It's also $3000 for the new Surface. It would have to really compete with serious specs AND an interface at that price
But I wanted to dismiss it. If you don't like the answer, downvote it and leave a comment as to why. If an answer is unclear, it's not something we mods need to do something about.
@johnp got some good shots from a composition standpoint but don't think the really cheap 135 can hold up sharpness wise. Going to look into other lenses or maybe once I get everything organized and planned really well I'll rent a lens for a weekend.
A company said JPG, GIF, SWF or PNG formats are accepted for banners. If doing animated please keep it under a 15 second loop. Decided to see what I could do with that... came out to 18mb.
Something tells me if I submit to them an 18mb banner its not going to go over well ^^
and I'd have ot buy adapters to use my external harddrive and wacom and such.
the bar looks nice if it performs well... but not at that price point. Windows just came out with a revolutionary desktop and Apple is giving us this at the same price point
looks like Im probably switching to windows
@JohnB I'm supposed to have an annual review this week. Tomorrow I'm at a conference. Its almost 3pm. The Office Mgr told me if he (the Pres/Owner) doesn't get me I should pop in and ask him if he's going to do it. What do you think?
I really want my review but popping my head in to ask for it seems like a not great idea :\
