If you are here, welcome! Kindly use the tag @TeresaLisbon to refer to me. My time zone is GMT +5:30 , and if I'm awake I respond within half an hour.
@AlbusDumbledore First of all, how are you, and is your preparation for JEE going? T
*how

Fine, chemistry not going well ,never enters my head maths and physics superb ,solve most questions of JEE with ease especially (inequality and calculus)
@TeresaLisbon

Great! Now, you say that you follow the inequalities tag. I know you to be a good contributor, so let me ask you this : Paramanand Singh recently said this " there are questions that don't have much context, but are frightening for users, and therefore receive upvotes". How much would you agree with this, in terms of the inequality questions that you see on the site usually?
I also wanted to inform you, that the user math.stackexchange.com/users/688539/buraian can be a great contact of yours for the site. From what I know, a honest contributor who also has JEE background.

Let me think Is this sort of test?I hope I am not matked for any of my comments?
marked i meant
Yes I know Buranian we are 'friends' as we have chatted before and he is from kerela like me

Absolutely not a test, dear Albus. Why would I mark the headmaster of Hogwarts? I am just a CBI agent, no more. Disclaimer : Anything you say here will not be disclosed by me anywhere else. This is a free chat.
In return, all I need you to do, is not refer to a user by his or her name. Keep the anonymity of that person. All I want is feedback : from a person who I know I can trust.

relieved,I am a zero in inequalities when compared to real inequality experts (many here you know the inequality god) But I feel the comment by Paramanand Singh is applicable in general to most contest questions ,not just inequalities
Yes some questions are frightenening but such frightening inequalities which look leas elegant are upvoted less,my highest upvoted question looks very simple but proof is hard IMO

Oh, I see, thanks @AlbusDumbledore. But let me ask you something : would you say that there are users , who use post questions using the [tag:<inequality>] tag name, whose only contributions to the site are posting of such questions which receive upvotes, but don't really have context? It will be my job to look for such users : I just want an answer to "are inequalities a source of such questions as Paramanand talks about"?
And are there particular users (no name, of course) that are profiting from posting "scary" questions to the tune of having upvotes on undeserving questions?

@TeresaLisbon Yes many! Not naming ,their rep goes up like anytrhing
Inequalities can be easily created, go to WA type out some creative symmetric inequality which looks nice and make sure no one has a solution in AOPS and then post it here ,
Yes that is a problem,

@AlbusDumbledore Thanks for the acknowledgement, @AlbusDumbledore. What do you think we can do to address this particular issue?

Nothing I can think of,but if the question shows research effort such impossible inequalities would be of great interest to inequality lovers

Some suggestions from me, I want you to pick the most appropriate one : (i) inform the mods about such users (ii) talk to such users in private and educate them (iii) talk to users in general and tell them to objectively judge content than be carried away by the issues.
The third is difficult to execute , but would probably have the best impact maybe.

I think informing the moderators will be a good idea, not many users may accept a call to chat(other than the ones with a deep affection to the site)

@AlbusDumbledore Thanks for that. Look, I genuinely appreciate content that shows research effort and what not. The problem is with questions that are instantly attractive and nothing more : they are not judged on merit. I always felt that inequalities , and in general contest math had this feel to them, but unfortunately by site rules we must judge questions by some merit : which lacks in those questions. I needed your opinion on the situation to gauge it.
which lacks in *some of those questions, please forgive the generalization.
With that, I want to wish you again in your endeavor to pass the JEE, and I am sure I will see you on the site again. Let me tell you, I will be passing on your suggestions anonymously to the moderators and I will not claim it as my suggestion.

Ok thanks for taking my opinion also into account i feel more part of the site nd realise its not just high rep users

Thanks, @AlbusDumbledore. Good night (we share the same time zone!). This is a chat room that I created to ensure I can have more "personal" conversations with users, as to how they are enjoying/not enjoying the site. It is my feeling that more 1-1 moderation will be useful for the site, also it allows "non-reputed" contributions from members who care, like you do. Once again, thanks a lot.

G night
:)
