3:50 PM
sneaks in on break to declare that Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft looks super rad, sneaks out again

2 hours later…
5:27 PM
Lol

4 hours later…
9:40 PM
friends have appeared! \o/
how are friends?

nothing i do will affect my grade any more so i will relax

I have my community college homework to finish
And also kind of in a bad mood because my dad lectured me for like two hours while I was trying to get stuff done which completely screwed up my schedule

What was it about? :/

Oh "How are you going to pay for shit" and "You're not good at anything unless you win something"
At two hours I basically told my dad I have stuff to finish up and he looked absolutely flabbergasted like "have you not been listening to anything I've been saying"
Like dude
I HAVE WORK
Just because you think I'm wasting my life
If stuff had worked out like I had planned, I should be practicing trumpet by now, so that I can spin by four, and then eat by six or seven
It's almost three now, and I still have homework, and I still haven't practiced

Your dad sounds like my dad, in that he's more concerned about your Future(tm) and less concerned about giving you the support you need right now in the present.

9:47 PM
Yes, that is exactly my dad

He means well, but I know that kind of dad

Well he also has severe anxiety and he's projecting that unto me because it seems like I'm not doing anything and therefore I will fail
I don't actually tell him I've been looking into stuff because I don't want to be further interrogated about what my possibilities are
Don't mind me, I know I can get a half-tuition into Wheaton, and then their music scholarship can probably pay for the rest otherwise I will bother them to death to give me money
I don't want to work because it takes time away from other stuff I'm doing but you know what I'll get one so you'll stop bothering me about it
He says he sees me as a 12 year old kid still and whatever
He can think that

My therapist would get you in her office, point at me and say "you two have the same baggage and we're gonna talk about it together"

I'm just kind of done though
I really don't

i was mostly joking, i know your situation is different. i just hope you don't feel alone in feeling like your parents don't understand you

9:58 PM
I know my mom understand me

do you feel like this is something you could come to her about, or do you feel like she would just support your dad?

She gets on both of our cases
She's dealt with enough, but I'll probably talk to her about it
It just feels so
Ugh
Idk
Tree needs to finish homework

you're not alone, and you shouldn't let him make you feel alone or lesser. you're gonna be fine whatever path you take.
you are a hella smart kid with so many prospects ahead of you
just because your dad is a neurotic mess doesn't mean he has the right to put you down or make you feel bad about yourself.
that's his problem, not yours.
okay?

it's his problem, not yours, and you deserve to be happy because you are young and full of so much potential and have so much good stuff ahead of you. that's what's important right now, not your "career readiness" or stupid shit
by questioning and pushing he is making you feel lesser, and that's not what you deserve
you are doing the best you can with the resources you have, and he should be proud to have a smart kid like you.
we don't know each other in real life but goddamnit, I'M proud of you.

10:08 PM
Aw, thank you

now go rock that homework because you're SMART and WORTHY OF LOVE

@bobble you are ALSO smart and worthy of love

<3
you know, Quinn basically has the ability to retcon books onto her person

Q: Does The Amazing Lightspeed Horse work, RAW?

PassageN Medium humanoids have gathered on an arbitrarily long field, standing in a line with each creature 120 feet away from each of its neighbors. The creature at one end of the line is mounted on a horse with a speed of 60. The creatures are arranged in initiative order, such that all N creatures wi...

Reminds me of the "Villager Railgun" exploit in D&D 5e where since passing an object to somebody else is a free action, you can line up a couple hundred NPCs and have them all pass an object to each other down the line in the span of one turn, reaching Mach-speeds by the end.
It's hysterical.
