Q: AWK - Create new subdir and move files into it based on file name

djsmiley2k - CoWI have loads (around 6000!) mp3's which I'd like to just dump into sub directories, based on the name of the file. Currently they're all in a single subdir. (There are already some existing directories for some artists, I don't wish to touch the files in these however a duplicate overwriting an e...

So I suspect there's some kinda buffer overflow or other bug breaking things
we'll see how long this nicety continues for.

We are always looking for ways to make it easier to be a part of the Stack Overflow community. One of the ways we make things easy is by offering the option to log in via other services, like Google or Facebook. As of today, we’re adding another option to log in – GitHub!

What this means to you is that you can now sign in to Stack Overflow by choosing GitHub when logging in, just like you can do now with Google or Facebook.

Speaking as one of the developers who helped build this, I’m excited to bring this feature to our community especially because it’s been a longstanding request fr …

I have a question, I have a WinScp script that that runs fine from the command line and from Task Scheduler when I run the Task manually, but when the scheduled task runs every 24 hours, it fails silently. Does anybody have ideas of what I should check?

@ReinstateMonica as in no logs? ;/
Are you sure it's actually running? Does the last run time update?

@djsmiley2k-CoW The WinSCP is called in the middle of a large script and the things before and after work, so I know that the scheduled task is actually running

6:47 PM
@ReinstateMonica Make sure you are running as the correct user in the scheduled task,

^^ that's my next thought

7:07 PM
i.e. does the scheduled task user have access to winscp and the script
is it using some path which only exists for someone else?

7:37 PM
Ok, I changed the user and will check back in the morning to see if that fixed the problem

8:13 PM
oh god screenprotector time for my phone
