So there is difference between Abrahamic conception of a single God, and the Hindu or pagan concept of universal spirit (Brahman)
The idea in Judaism is a bit different from that in Christianity/Islam
If you read Moses' ten commandments, one of them says, "Thou shalt not have other gods before me". This means their idea is that there could be many other gods, but "I am the only one you should worship". It does not mean in the truly universal sense, "I am seen through all the gods". It means, "Reject other gods, and only worship me"
"Monotheism" is a Greek term meaning "ho monos theos" i.e. "the only god". It does not mean "common spiritual existence in the form of any idea of god"
