Dispensationalism is really weird. God doesn't change so we'll always want to emphasise the continuity of God's actions over the ages, but it's not out of the question that he would decide to relate to people in different ways over history. But the ways dispensationalists have split up the Biblical history just doesn't make sense! It's so front heavy, focused on the beginning of Genesis, rather than the clear eras like priests vs judges vs kings vs prophets
@Birdie Not true - there's no dispensation for David's covenant in most of the schemas I've seen.

@curiousdannii Sure, and it's a bit of an oddity in their position (among many!). In general they split up the covenants into dispensations, though.
