@AlexStrasser I looked at your question about Islamic Scholars. There is a big cultural difference here. In Islam, a "scholar" is -- to the best of my understanding -- what we would call a "church leader" like Calvin, Luther, or George Fox, but their written statements may be taken even more seriously. I suggest some of the other links at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Islamic_studies_scholars may be helpful, including the list at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-Muslim_Islamic_scholars.

People in the last list may be Muslim, just not writing to a primarily muslim audience.

@disciple Thanks for your comment! Thanks for pointing that out. I was just starting to pick up on that some when I was looking into fatwa/Islamic jurisprudence and the "scholarly rulings" and all that stuff. That makes more sense.
