Q: Help identifying connector with screw housing (RG...?)

PzyI presume this should be a simple ID for someone who knows. I am interested in the general family of connector (e.g. RGxx). It's not something I ever use but as I have a box of them I could do with knowing what they are.

Q: Why do some guyed towers come to a point at the bottom?

TomWhy do some guyed broadcast towers come to a point at the base. It seems that it would be more stable if each vertical bar was anchored separately rather than being balanced at one point.
