@Tyberius Perhaps you were busy with the conference when I wrote my last message. Do you know why the matplotlib Gaussian question is so hard?

@user1271772 It looked like Hans pointed out what the format of the cube files and was trying to give the OP a chance to piece it together from that resource. Alternatively, the OP didn't ping Hans and so maybe he didn't see the most recent comment. I feel that like this previous question it would be more appropriate on StackOverflow.

Since it basically just asks "how do I plot 3D data with Python?". But I guess since this has come up independently twice already, I could probably add an answer when I get a chance or ping Hans and see if he wants the rep.

@Tyberius Sounds good! Yea, we can decide to "boycott" questions that "should" be on SO, but I'm not sure what positive contribution that will have to the site. We may get the tiny benefit that the OP doesn't ask more questions on MMSE because they've got the message that we don't want to answer such questions, but that just means less questions and traffic on our site, plus other people will keep asking such questions anyway, so the benefits seem slim,

especially when considered side-by-side with the disadvantages of ignoring such questions.
