@AncientSwordRage Thanks! Maybe we can clean up the existing answer then to make it accessible to people who aren't power users, I will see what I can do. Or is it better to separate out historical answers? I know on others stacks they just leave them separate so it's easier — Non-novelist3 mins ago
@goodguy5 the comments on the reddit thread (if it's the same one) point out you don't get AoO against friendly creatures, but that they'd allow it as it's cool (I disagree)
I once played a one shot as a divination wizard and the DM let me take a 20 on one of my portent rolls. I used it on a 9th inflict wounds as an opportunity attack.
Could the fighter's player declare they are hostile (free action), run by the cleric (movement), take the heal (cleric's reaction), then declare they are allies (free action)
@MikeQ Which is funny until an NPC caster is allowed to cast debuffs on the party while under sanctuary because they address all the targets as "hey, friend" before casting slow.
Could also turn around and abuse that with pack tactics. Gnoll declares anyone party member adjacent to their target as an ally for their turn. Instant advantage on attack!
As we're getting to higher levels I think a flying race may no longer be as much of an issue, of course I'll double check with my DM before using one.
I was unable to find a list of the flying-capable races though.
So far I know about these:
Aarakocra
Fairy
Winged Tiefling
Owlin
Aasimar (limited...
The question of concern is How can I preserve books, but keep them accessible?. There has been a good bit of chatter in comments about the on-topicness of the question, and I have seen the close vote count change a few times. The question is short, so I will reproduce it here:
How can I preserve...
@TheOracle @ThomasMarkov it's a library sciences question. I used to work in digital preservation. Worked adjacent to the physical conservation and preservation work a long time, and they're subjects that get deep an nuanced in short order.
Looking at the existing answers, to me, it is apparent that the question is outside the domain expertise of this stack. VtC with "ask a librarian" or a university library with a conservation and preservation department.
They'll probably also know a list of vendors that actually do good work if rebinding or digitization is the selected route. I expect they'll also have a list of vendors that are crap. Some of my former colleagues had lists of that variety.
@NautArch I have experience in digitization and some of the conservation leading up to it, but still wouldn't add an answer that question on this stack. I know for certain there are a few librarians in the field that read this stack, but I doubt they'll be chiming in on it either.
I recall that a malfunction of some old pipes was the cause of a conservation shipment that turned very quickly into chemical waste remediation as the leak contaminated all the works with lead.
@GcL The story of the Swedish ship Wasa is one of conservation needing remediation.
But yeah, if we're not getting answers by folks who have successfully done this, I think it needs to go to a stack where there are experts in this specifically. The crossover isn't actively working.
