Could somebody explain what this question is asking. I'm getting held up on the sentence that using both "unsheath" and "lower" which feel like antonyms to me
I'm DMing a 6 person campaign in 5E and one of my players made a Warlock that is dreadfully sick, but is bolstered by the Undying Warlock patron. How can I balance giving him mostly temporary hitpoints as a more flavorful replacement for normal hitpoints? For instance he might only have 4 HP but ...
My character wants to impress a person by teleporting 500' up with Dimension Door together with them, then casting feather fall to spend the next almost a minute (500' / 60' = landing on 9th round) admiring the scenery and conversing privately.
Does this work as expected?
My own thoughts:

According to an Evocation Wizard's Sculpt Spell class feature, they can create pockets of safety that allow the chosen creatures to:
...automatically succeed on their saving throws
against the spell, and they take no damage if they would normally take
half damage on a successful save.

As an example, both the spellcaster and the opponent ("the archer") have 1 hp remaining, so whoever completes there action first will knock the opponent unconscious. The spellcaster casts Create Bonfire, On the archer's space. However, The archer has readied an arrow targeting the spellcaster fo...
The spell "Globe of Invulnerability" says, in part:
Any spell of 5th level or lower cast from outside the barrier can't affect creatures or objects within it, even if the spell is cast using a higher level spell slot (PHB p.245)
Interpretation 1: For example, Fireball is a level 3 spell, so...
At 2nd level, monks can spend a ki point to use Step of the Wind:
Step of the Wind
You can spend 1 ki point to take the Disengage or Dash action as a bonus action on your turn, and your jump distance is doubled for the turn.
What is meant by "jump distance", exactly?
The rules on Jump...
@Novak If the answers rely on such tweets, it is a duplicate and the old question ought to be bountied so new questions can answer it without relying on such tweets. If the question itself relied on such tweets... I'm less sure honestly, though I think it should still be marked a duplicate and bountied and answers would say something like "your premise is flawed..."
Im making a small challenge for my party on the way to a Dwarven camp. While travelling they encounter a 20ft wide river that they must cross. I'm just gonna improvise the whole thing to give them some creativity in how to solve this problem.
My question is what happens if they fall in? The rive...
Transport Via Plants says
You must have seen or touched the destination plant at least once before.
If you used scrying on someone and see a plant that could be used for the spell can you teleport through that plant?
@Medix2 I don't know how to see a list of everything you have access to, but if you can open Xanathar's from the Sources menu, then you have access to it.
I hope you don't hold it against me that I answered the mathy question without real RPG context. I felt the probability trick I pull out there to make re-rolls a bit more tractable has value for this community so I wanted people to see it :)
For myself and others this link to the hat of wizardry works whether you own Xanathar's or not and this link to the hat of wizardry works only if you own Xanathar's. Is this not a problem?
@RedRiderX perhaps its something whose phase diagram has gone all whonko, where it actually melts when things get colder and solidifies when things get warmer?
@RedRiderX idk, but my marketplace section and all that stuff says I don't own it. And I can't open anything else from Xanathar's like subclasses, feats, items not from Icespire, etc...
And then on the Warlock class page I can see things like "Cloak of Flies" but I can't see them if I'm in incognito or signed out which, yeah idk
@Someone_Evil Yeah the same occurs for me, so then.. I somehow have access to only the Invocations despite my account saying I have access to nothing, am not in any campaigns, and have not bought anything?
I am a GM and I really need advice regarding one of my players.
I play with my group a campaign with FATE rules in a postapocalyptic dark and gritty homebrew world which is mainly horror based, written by a good friend and myself about 2 years ago, which I also GM'd for another group. I give my ...
Four-Colour Apocrypha by Speak the Sky is a superhero world-building game that's not built on unshakeable truths, but incomplete facts, dubious rumours, and unproven opinions, followed up by telling the stories the people in your fictional world are telling through superhero comics!
Has a free demo, is currently on sale, and StS is working on some non-supers adaptations of the engine which look shiny.
I thought that and the title were kinda... Iffy? idk, I'm perfectly happy with this being a "Medix2 struggles with intent over the internet" situation since I'm not the best at that
It's not just you. I'm not sure what to do to revise it.
This is ... a common trend in DaleM's answers.
I've revised it.
And left a comment. Please flag for moderator attention if you see answers with a tone that seems judgemental/dismissive and otherwise likely to make the querent feel foolish for having asked their question.
I’m new to dming and a player wants their tiefling to not have a tail. I think it’s probably ok but I just want to make sure it doesn’t break the game or anything.
@Medix2 Are you in a campaign with anyone that might have bought those items? If one person in a campaign has a Master subscription, everyone in the campaign can access everyone else's paid content.
