@Miniman True, though I also haven't really seen that discussion happen recently in terms of people wondering "do we really need these tags?" and pointing out a problem it's causing.

Q: How can I encourage a good role-player to be more creative?

CharanorI'm currently GMing for a new group of people, and I have introduced them to a new rule that I've had success with before. The rule basically states that if you give a cool or interesting description of what you wish to do, and then succeed on an ability check, you can gain some sort of bonus to ...

Q: Does the Jack-Of-All-Trades edge grant basic proficiency in every language?

Guillaume F.In Savage Worlds Deluxe, the Jack-Of-All-Trades edge grants the following benefit: Any time he makes an unskilled roll for a Smarts-based skill, he may do so at d4 instead of the usual d4–2. Languages fit under the category "Knowledge (Smarts)", and so are Smarts-based skills. The chart for...

I really can't tell if this question is any sort of duplicate or too many questions at once...

hey there @Glazius and @ACuriousMind -- we'll have to postpone to next week at least, had a rather weird week schedule-wise this week

No worries. New year means new craziness.

@Shalvenay That's fine, it's a bit hectic 'round here, too

@Medix2 I'm not sure what's up with that question, but I'm pretty sure the answer is going to be 'ask your DM'.

6:55 PM
@Medix2 Yeah, it does seem too broad. Some of the sub-questions may also be dupes of existing questions, but I haven't checked that part.

Has anyone ever noticed the "Gnolls" section in the "Other Races" part of WGTE? dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/general-discussion/…
> As a gnoll, you could be a former mercenary who’s chosen to stay with comrades you met during your service; as a rule, Znir gnolls are deeply loyal to those that they consider to be members of their pack. You might be driven by curiosity, eager to explore the world beyond Droaam. You could be driven by visions of a demonic power rising in the Five Nations or working on behalf of the Daughters of Sora Kell. Or you could be a mercenary still, insisting on regular payment for your ongoing services to the party.
It seems to assume the existence of playable gnolls, justifying how they'd fit into the setting in the same way it does for aasimar, dragonborn, gith, and goblinoids. But there's no stats for them there (obviously, or that'd be much more well known). It looks like that text has been there since the first version of WGTE, and is still there in the latest version.

> The Mourning could have transformed a city of humans into bee-people.
I guess it's trying to address different races, and since Gnolls are a fairly common race its adressed in that way, even if there isn't a playable version of it

Q: Can I dimension door onto the back of an ancient green dragon?

Vittorio CaranoDungeon Master's Guide (p. 271): If one creature wants to jump onto another creature, it can do so by grappling. As an alternative, a suitably large opponent can be treated as terrain for the purpose of jumping onto its back or clinging to a limb. After making any ability checks necessary ...

There's also an entry for minotaurs, but not one for centaurs, which for playable race published are on the same page (not literally). I don't think it aims to be consistent

@V2Blast WGTE?

@Shalvenay Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron

@ACuriousMind oh

9:45 PM
@Someone_Evil Technically the bit on minotaurs was in WGTE even before minotaurs were published in GGTR (Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica)
It was more an observation that they left the "gnolls" section in, as-is with no acknowledgement that there's no official published race for 5e, even in the "final" version of WGTE
(also, minotaurs having a place in Eberron doesn't necessarily mean centaurs would)
(but also I know virtually nothing about Eberron)

> A war brews on a continent that has withstood more than its fair share of conflict. The Dwendalian Empire and the Kryn Dynasty are carving up the lands around them, and only the greatest heroes would dare stand between them. Somewhere in the far corners of this war-torn landscape are secrets that could end this conflict and usher in a new age of peace—or burn the world to a cinder.

Q: Does a Pact of the Blade Warlock have their weapon proficiency list increased while their Pact weapon is active?

aaron9eeeAccording to the Warlock class, the Pact of the Blade Boon allows a Warlock to use your action to create a pact weapon in your empty hand. You can choose the form that this melee weapon takes each time you create it. You are proficient with it while you wield it. Ordinarily, this would...

@V2Blast Oh good for them.
Sounds like Mercer must have finished excising all the Pathfinder stuff from the setting.
I heard he had to hold some stuff back from their last supplement because of that.

I wonder if this will put any of the items already released on D&D Beyond behind a paywall?
Like the magic items and that mutant Blood Hunter class
Oh this'll probably have that Gunslinger subclass as well.
And I think he also created a whole new school of magic?
