@Rubiksmoose Hey, in regards to my post, my point is that "I can't find rules about what this gives the player - but here's an example of what you could do"

Oh hey, hatmas

@Ben I kind of get that is what you are going for, but your wording suggests that it suggests the rules say this.

Ben
Yeah, I get that haha. Words aren't always on my side sometimes :P

FYI, Bundle of Holding is going all-out at the moment - they have bundles for Doctor Who RPG, Adventures In Middle Earth, Warhammer FRPG, and Cyberpunk 2020

@Ben I made an edit, does that look fine?

Ben
12:06 AM
Yeah :) Thanks for that!

@Ben No problem! :)
@Ben I suspect though that you might acumulate some downvotes as it is. You may want to start by saying there are no rules in 5e beyond the spells that OP points out.
FRwiki is not a great source.

Ben
@Rubiksmoose Well, that definitely will help.
Edited. I added a bit about this answer being about the "flavour" of it all.
Season's Greetings, Heretics

12:24 AM
@Ben That a true feat of engineering

Ben
I can't get over the name haha. It is fantastic "Gingerbreadnought"

1:31 AM
@Shalvenay Nothing happened yet but my friend did tell the DM that relativistic weapons are possible in D&D with no details. The DM's only response was an explative.
Won't possibly know any more until next year.

@Joshua he's probably referring to the "peasant railgun" or something similar

@Adeptus: Something much worse.

2:32 AM
@Rubiksmoose I mean, like most wikis, Forgotten Realms wiki is not an actual source - just a collection of information that cites other sources

> Today is Dalek Day.

huh
seems like the worst day

God REST ye MERRY WHOVIANS let NOTHING ye DISMAY A new EPISODE of DOCTOR WHO will AIR on NEW YEAR'S DAY. The SERIES that will FOLLOW THAT has BEEN POSTPONED, they SAY. Oh, TIDINGS of COMFORT and JOY. #DalekCarols
WE WISH YOU EXTERMINATION. WE WISH YOU EXTERMINATION. WE WISH YOU EXTERMINATION AND A DEADLY NEW YEAR! #DalekCarols

lol

It WAS the NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, and ALL through the SHIP not a DALEK was STIRRING because IT IS NOT AN EGG WHISK!!!!! #DalekCarols

I am glad they look so dang silly
otherwise I would be forced not to like them very much
anyway, I got the only hat I wanted all that badly
this year wasn't the best for it
maaaybe I would be happy to have the 2019 ones but I really can't control that
my main gripe with every Winterbash is how many hats require,... other people's input as well as work from yourself

10:50 AM
@trogdor decorated a box in the office to kinda look like a Dalek. Coworkers are wondering why I did that.

lol

11:10 AM
MikeQ's answer over here almost has 100 upvotes. Give him gold? rpg.stackexchange.com/a/137289/14873
Just spotted it while looking at the pregnancy question because someone reminded me of it

@Derpy Your coworkers have been judged, and found wanting.

hehe

11:33 AM
@Axoren Done what I could :D

I've been playing this digital deck building battle game, Slay the Spire a bit and I like it
Decks of cards are a really neat randomization construct

My experimental seven-page RPG BEARS IN THE DARK is out now, I guess. It's a barebones way to introduce folks to some of the mechanics of Forged in the Dark games, inspired by @gshowitt and @john_harper. Find it here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ThHp_XlMKVv6h8zIzfPnEJIL9uU1xWCuNnw90ot8ccM/edit?usp=sharing

@kviiri I like them for monster AI; got hooked on that during Kingdom Death: Monster.

2:11 PM
@ACuriousMind For clarity, I have also posted this:

A close vote is not a super downvote.

@Yuuki I almost flagged the comment but I wasn't sure the mods would take the joke well.
my comment was going to be "A flag for moderator is not a super downvote"

Well, we have stars in place of upvotes. It's not like having a rating system for real-time discussion is going to cause any trouble at all /s.

2:33 PM
@Yuuki I've always thought of it as an indistinguishable mix of: I don't think this question belongs here and I don't like this question.
VtC on questions that rubbed people the wrong way are basically super downvotes.

2:45 PM
Hey can I Get some opinions?
~Crimson, Sadistic Assassin (Pain)
~Captain Barkus, Half-Orc Barbaian Warlock Pirate (Heritage& Loyalty)
~Rinaldo Scarsi, Born Vampire Druid Noble (Connection&Attunement)
~Damian Henderson, Vampire Telekinetic (Pleasure&Limitless)
~Grandmaster, Warforged Monk (Selflessness&Self-Disipline)
~Amelia, Necromancer Bard (Fear&Peer Pressure)
~Lucille, Ranger of Dust (Preservation&Trust)
~Lucielle, Ranger of Dust (Preservation&Trust)

I'm thinking of these 8 as the start of my saga series for my youtube page I want to start, Which do you think would be a good story to start with? The ( ) says what

@KaleDodge I like warforged characters because of their history and exploring the role-playing interactions. For as mechanically strong as they are, I find the non-combat disadvantages and discrimination interesting to explore.

@Colingross the warforges story was going to be one of how he became a grandmaster and a defender for those he cares for, a story of the struggle he has to be respected and cared for, but never truly with those who are close to him. His story is one of sacrifice and disipline

@KaleDodge Sure go with that. Being a defender is an interesting take if you can illustrate how those he's defending perceive him. Do some view him still as a tool of war and defending them fits with that perspective so they don't think of him as a full person? Does defending someone remind them of the original purpose of the warforged and that is unsettling.

suuuuuuupermaaaaaaaaan

Contrast that with a non-combat coming to the defense of someone. Perhaps an adventure to dig up some evidence to bring to light the innocence of a condemned person. Where the defense is purely diplomatic and verbal. Illustrate the myriad of responses to a warforged-lawyer.
Basically, the fighting aspect of warforged is the least interesting. Giving warforged reasons to fight is like throwing fuel on a fire. It's satisfying in the way that is totally expected.

2:59 PM
In his area of origin, they see him as nothing more than a tool, however he could always see the potential others had within and how to help grow that within themselves. he eventually went into the mountians and came across a monastery that took him in. There he learned top care for the mountain range, for nature and harmony.
He started to defend those who resided in the mountains, the monastery is a group he has to earn their respect and care and get them to see him as an equal but he doesn't actively try to achieve this rather he lets his actions speak for him. he accepts no one will ever see him as equal always lesser, this character is one who is much more of a talker, one who questions people so that they can answer their own problems and then grow into their potential
His story is just as much the physical fighting as it is the mental and social hurdles he must overcome

So where's the growth or change for the character. A stoic character that has to overcome challenge after challenge of different types is less compelling that a story in which the character changes over time.

Next it comes from the monastery, as he reflects on nature himself and the teachings of the monastery, becoming more self aware of the nature of the reality he resides in, as he becomes a better monk he does return to defending others but he does so not just for their safety and not just for the challenge, but for him he takes each encounter as a way to better understand those he both fights and defends
First it comes from leaving those he cares for, being confronted with that he cant just allow himself to be used and treated like any tool when he risks his very being for them.
He learns that he doesn't need to try and get peoples respect and care but he learns to accept that those who don't he does not need to invest himself into and to those who do care and respect him and treat him equally he begins to create true bonds with them that are free of any toxicity

3:15 PM
@KaleDodge This is a change from worry about the haters to not worrying about the haters?

A change for trying to change how people view/treat you to Accepting that what will be will be and to try and warp people to the way you want them is pointless

@KaleDodge Sounds good. Would not try to sell that to an American audience though.

Why not? Im curious as to your reasoning

@KaleDodge In general, American audiences like nice endings where everything turns out well for the protagonist. Like they were able to change the racist old man by the heart warming or touching events of the protagonist.
Darker story lines usually have a niche following. Clockwork Orange is a good example. The American version is missing the last chapter.
@KaleDodge Sure. You're probably not wrong, but it's a tough sell.

3:30 PM
yep. Im also going to be doing an "Absurd Alignment" series. basically explaining my take on D&D alignment and why my personal alignment system takes the 9 alignments and makes 144 alignments 108 I will be discussing
this will be fun

@KaleDodge The alignment model of the world wasn't a very good one to begin with. You added more parameters to make a better model?
If you're ever thinking about going into physics, you might be interested in m-theory.

pretty much
whats m theory

@KaleDodge A unification of string theories. The part that you might like is the solving some of the issues by adding more dimensions. I think PBS has a pretty tractable series on it, but I couldn't find the link in one search, so no linky.

Shamy
I probably would enjoy that

@KaleDodge Yeah. I chucked the alignment system altogether for 5e. If a player asks, I or the other players can generally tell them how the actions of a character are perceived by someone else. But having an absolute arbiter of good/evil law/chaos is not compelling, doesn't have mechanical importance, and makes for less interesting stories.

3:38 PM
I tell my players alignment is for CC only and its to help them discover their characters and nothing more

@KaleDodge Yeah. If they do fill them in, I read it as, "this is how the character perceives themselves"

accurate

Alignment reportedly had a very different role in the earlier editions. It was supposedly much more cosmic (Law & Chaos reflecting the character's views on creation itself) but has since gradually (d)evolved into personality box.
However, I've no idea where this is sourced from. I haven't actually played any of the older DnD editions

@kviiri 2nd edition had good/evil in a bunch of mechanics.

But yeah, alignment is one of those things I wish new players had never heard about. Probably thanks to DnD-inspired video games and alignment memery, it's got way too much attention outside the hobby

3:51 PM
After generating the abilities of your character, selecting his or her race, and deciding upon a class, it is necessary to determine the alignment of the character. It is possible that the selection of the class your character will profess has predetermined alignment: a druid is neutral, a paladin is lawful good, a thief can be neutral or evil, an assassin is always evil. Yet, except for druids and paladins, such restrictions still leave latitude - the thief can be lawful neutral, lawful evil, neutral evil, chaotic evil, chaotic neutral, neutral, or even neutral good; and the assassin has n
1st edition D&D on alignment

I don't really get what problem they were trying to solve with alignment

@KaleDodge Gary was an interesting guy, and had a specific take on the kind of simulation he was designing. A cosmic good/evil was baked into that.

Yes gary was may he rest in peace.
The problems came in 2nd and 3rd and 3.5

@kviiri It made for a very clear delineation of "good guys" and "bad guys" which can be useful in how it simplieifes the world. Also, tends to fit well into the fantasy realms derived from Tolkien and classical mythologies.
@KaleDodge I think the problem was always there and the audience for these games has gotten more sophisticated and interested in telling stories together where alignment just gets in the way.

You do have a point, the playstyle of the game evolved and alignment was a problem'

3:59 PM
@ColinGross The first alignment system didn't have good and evil, only lawful and chaotic

@KaleDodge Yeah. Like the story you're telling is interesting, and the alignment of the character might otherwise pigeon hole them.
@kviiri Sure. "good guys"/"bad guys" =~ "lawful guys"/"chaotic guys"

Are we having an alignment bashing discussion again

no
We are talking about how I turned 9 alignment into 144 alignmenta

@MikeQ Yes, we've nominated you to be chaotic-good.
@KaleDodge I was going to avoid talking about an alignment system with more parameters. Seems overly complex for a model that is just as easily excised from the game.

@ColinGross Was chaotic really stand-in for evil in the first ed?

4:04 PM
Although, more parameters can lead to finer tuning and possibly a better fit, but I think the idea is probably fundamentally not a good one.
@kviiri I don't think I ever really played 1st edition. I was very young, and my first real recollections I'm sure are 2nd edition. However, I still have some very 1st edition looking stuff from that time.
@kviiri It has been my impression that this was the case.

ugh. I've had to actually do steady work all morning
it was terrible

@goodguy5 Horror of horrors!

you know how you usually get a little slack-time

After all, we all go to work to answer Stack questions and browse reddit, not do work.

today has been constantly busy

4:09 PM
@goodguy5 Used to be "compiling"
Now it's "model training" or "continuous integration"

@ColinGross For me it's "The project is rebuilding".

@KaleDodge So how does that work? 12x12 grid? 3x3x4x4 hypercube grid?

some jackwagon advertised delivery to a client.

I wrote the change that was requested and provided the files.

The client looks over them and is like "dur. why are these numbers all lower than I was advertised"

And I'm pretty sure that the aformentioned jackwagon forgot to pare his results down to ranks 1 and 2

@goodguy5 So you're cleaning up after a jackwagon?

well, first, I was confirming that I hadn't been the jackwagon

4:17 PM
@goodguy5 Ha! That's always a good thing to check first.

I managed to have a really productive day until the last minutes when I accidentally pushed some access keys to a repo
Not a major issue since key rotation can be done easily
But rather embarrassing so I had to learn 1984'ing git history ;)

4:33 PM
6x6x4 cube @mikeq

4:46 PM
@KaleDodge wait, that's not a cube, though

@KaleDodge Oy. Is this model supposed to be satirical, or is the extra complexity supposed to serve some purpose?

Actually serves a purpose
and 6 cubes in width 6 cubes in length and 4 cubes in depth
not a perfect cube but still 3 diminsions

Is this like pokemon rock-paper-scissors triangles where some alignments beat others

not a cube at all

e.g. "Lawful grass" > "Chaotic water"

4:48 PM
rectangular prism

Valid goodguy5

@MikeQ But what if its Chaotic grass vs Lawful water?

It's a cuboid

and no, no alignment trumps another

Can you add a dimension for the kinsey scale

4:49 PM
The what scale

I'll accept cuboid, because it doesn't have a great definition

@GreySage Time to consult the charts!

@MikeQ Break out the matrices!

I think the game would really be improved with a 3x3x3x3x3x3x3x3x3x3x3 alignment graph

@KaleDodge Kinsey scale is a sexual orientation scale, and was pretty influential back in the days when popular and even scientific understanding of homosexuality was mainly scary misconceptions

4:52 PM
Umm no that scale has nothing to do with alignment

(Not implying it still isn't, in many places)
@KaleDodge I believe it was suggested facetiously

We need alignment axes for handedness, chocolate vs. vanilla, team Jacob vs. team Edward, and voting preferences

and axes for how likely you are you wield an axe

@MikeQ But what about Die Hard: Christmas movie or not?

I once tried to start a workplace argument over York vs Lancaster but it failed because I was the only history geek there :(

4:53 PM
@GreySage is that a binary axis?

@SirCinnamon I can think of at least 4 values for it.

@SirCinnamon It's a Christmas movie, it's not a Christmas movie, no preference. 3 values.

I guess there'd be the view that Christmas movies are an illusion
So it's as much Christmas film as any other

Speaking of Christmas movies, is Santa Claus a Sith?

@Yuuki only if Gandalf is a wizard

4:56 PM
He makes two lists for who's naughty and who's nice. And from Obi-wan, we know that only Sith deal in absolutes.

@Yuuki Wears red, magic powers

Fun fact: The Finnish name for Santa Claus is still "Yule Goat", referring to a folklore beast. People'd dress up as goats and go from house to house demanding leftovers from solstice feasts

@Yuuki waiting for someone to mention that old movie, "Santa’s Slay"

@kviiri Im waiting for someone to burn that dang Galve Goat this year (sweden not finland I know)

@SirCinnamon A Swedish colleague sent a pic from a supermarket in Sweden selling little straw goats like that, and right next to it, matchboxes :)
Practice kits

5:04 PM
That's cute haha
Ooooh! theres a live webcam of the goat
gets about a frame per second

So @KaleDodge how does this alignment system work, and why should I take it seriously

@MikeQ It doesn't and you shouldn't lol
;)

5:22 PM
@Rubiksmoose You mentioned it's supposed to serve a purpose

He didnt

@MikeQ Nah I don't think I have ever said that lol. But then again I was not the person you directed that question at. I was just sticking my nose in the conversation.

@Rubiksmoose What kinda switcheroo has been pulled on me
Don't spook me like that, it's not October anymore

@MikeQ You've been fooled by classic Moose tomfoolery.

5:53 PM
In our current Stellaris MP, I'm playing a game studio turned megacorp, run by a race of reptiles. They're called Lizards of the Coast
Their capital is the beautiful world of Newt York, with lesser planets including places like Scalyfornia, Monitoronto and Iguanaheim

@mikeq ill be making a youtube series on it ill share it here when I do, but its entire point is to take a deeper look and understanding of what it means to be lawful or chaotic, to what degree of each, what holds priority to you, same with the scale of good and evil.

Question for your alignment system

yes?

Suppose Krog belongs to a warrior tribe. Their tribe's ethical code believes that raiding and killing will appease the war god and bring prosperity to their tribe; otherwise the war god will be upset and destroy the universe. Krog is a devout follower of this code. What is Krog's alignment?

@KaleDodge So what is the 3rd axis? If yu have the usual Chaotic to Lawful and Evil to Good, whats the 3rd dimension

6:06 PM
Krogs personal alignment would be recessive Chaotic dominant Good with recessive lawful tendencies where Good is in the Primary Slot and Chaotic is in the secondary slot.

As far as the 3rd axis its the scale of severity of the lawful chaotic good evil scales looking at how attuned you are to where you place on those scales
the argument for dominant lawful tendencies can be made

I understood literally none of that lol

Hence why im making a 52 episode series starting in Januarey
Basic answer: CG with a lawful mindset'

Don't get me wrong, it's your project and your choice where to take it... but I think for the vast majority of the people here, the alignment problem is better solved with less alignment than more.

If you need a series of 52 videos to explain your system, then there's a decent chance it's overcomplicated

in all honesty people only need to watch the first 6 episodes, every episode after that is just looking at combinations

6:17 PM
52 episodes is like 2 entire seasons of anime

Are episodes 2 minutes or 10 minutes

10 minutes or less
1 episode a week

6:52 PM
I'm considering setting up some AW after new year's

@MikeQ Also I think it is important to point out that I didn't read that fully and I was referring to the standard alignment system, not Kale's
@kviiri Heartily agree here, but I'd be interested in seeing what they come up with.
In my games, alignment isn't even a thing. I just got rid of it.

7:16 PM
Yes I'm sure it's a very robust homebrew system for narrowly categorizing each creature's alignment, I just don't see the point
Jun 1 at 17:44, by Mike Q
Sigh. I still think think that, at best, alignment exists to discourage player characters from randomly murdering each other.

Don't you love when you try to quickly correct a typo, and end up typing the same thing again because you are doing it to fast?

@MikeQ And then you get newbie players who want to be chaotic evil so they can do whatever they want without being called out :))

Jun 1 at 17:07, by Mike Q
Which can be extended to my greater point, that the alignment mechanic is bad and should feel bad

7:31 PM
@MikeQ The alignment mechanic is bad Chaotic Evil.
@KaleDodge If you need to do Punnett squares with your alignment, I'm out.

I did a search and I have ~70 messages in this room that express my disdain for alignment systems

@Yuuki It would be a punnet cube

I rhink
And think.
...that DW did an ok job with its alignment, although it's mainly there to emulate DnD

These are the alignments: left, right, center, justify, and inherit. And center doesn't really exist. It's an illusion, an unobtainable lie.

The alignments are
Tire, Spine, political views, and Chakras

7:43 PM
@goodguy5 The four nations lived together in harmony...

@goodguy5 Don't forget about the four Myers-Briggs axes

Ok folks let's tone it down... I'm not a fan of these alignment things myself but we're speaking of another chatizen's personal project here and I feel we're no longer within the realm of constructive advice. Be as skeptical of the project as you like but I think we should steer clear of even subtle ridicule. This hobby rides on people daring to express themselves!

Fair enough

7:59 PM
@kviiri wait, what? I wasn't paying close enough attention
I just saw someone mention alignment and made a joke

Hey, anybody got this old blog that I'm having trouble finding bookmarked? It was a blog about a bad Vampire the Masquerade player named (I think) Jessica?
It's ancient, so google is getting saturated by all the new posts since then
The author dedicated an entire website to it, and there were loads of "episodes" to the story
I can't for the life of me find it

@goodguy5 Yea, I don't want to sic blame. I just think we'd best let it rest for now :)
You're all decent people, or so I've come to believe ^^

COUGH COUGH
:P

My alignment is neutral decent. It says so in my profile.

@Axoren "XxGirlTalksXx"?

8:09 PM
My alignment is "will do evil for money"
@SirCinnamon No, it was a blog by the DM about a girl named Jessica
I think it was an angelfire blog, before Tumblr became a main thing
I could even be wrong about the angelfire thing, but it was a dedicated site, and I know this, because it was white text on black background and it was entirely Custom HTML

@Axoren I think most people are, depending on the quantities of evil and money involved!

$1 to prank Jesus.

Also I'd probably cheat and try to buy myself a clean conscience by giving some of my ill-gotten € to charitable causes

eyyyyyy i got me a silver 5e badge

That's just admitting you did something wrong, @kviiri
It's better to just live the rest of your life in denial. Sweet, rich, evil denial.

8:15 PM
@Axoren It's so typical knowing that kind of details, but not any good search terms for finding it.

@Axoren Sometimes atoners are revered more than people who never lapsed in the first place ;)

@Anaphory It's the worst. I wish I remembered more indexable information.
The story was quite famous in RP circles back when it was new, so I was hoping someone here would remember what I was talking about

I know there is (or was) a website on the internet describing styles of medieval handwriting. It had a reddish background, numbered items, example images and Identifont-style questions. It may or may not have been on a swiss domain. I actually managed to re-find it once, but now too much time has passed again.

@goodguy5 Completely unrelated and too new of a story

8:18 PM
oh. 2013 is too new
how ancient?

I mentioned that it might have been on Angelfire
Back when Angelfire was the thing
If you guys don't know the story, I'm gonna tell you right now, it's probably a lost cause to search for it

man, I didn't start using the internet outside of school until 2006

Oh god... I was about to say something about everyone not using the internet until they were already a man (banepost)
But then I remembered that my nephew has a Kindle Fire

I mean, I'm 30

There are people in the world right now who were born after 9/11.
And that happened when I was a kid.
Is that how people alive for Kennedy's assassination feel?

8:26 PM
@goodguy5 And by then you were already trolling?

The lack of internet is one of those aging things

@Axoren Atmittedly, that statement was true on 9/12 ;-)

@Yuuki I've never been a big fan of trolling, tbh

@Anaphory I refuse to believe that people were giving birth when they should have been having a moment of silence for America.
:P
Kids are gonna grow up to have cyberchips that let them play RPGs with their retinal and aural interfaces while they commute to work.

@Axoren I'm hoping for that day to come sooner...

8:28 PM
The ARG TTRPGs are gonna be everywhere and kids are gonna be fighting orcs in the streets

@Axoren I think by definition an ARG isn't a TTRPG.

And we're all gonna be like "Back in my day, we needed Pencils and 8.5 by 11 paper to defeat a single goblin."

When is Charles Stross' Halting State set?

@GreySage There's gonna be virtual tables everywhere.

@Axoren Will they have virtual paper and pencils?

8:29 PM
@GreySage What if the virtual orc is on your table top?
Using its height advantage to cleave down on you with its battle axe?

@GreySage I would hate that. Character sheets in pen only, so that your HP can never drop.

@Anaphory It can't get a full swing without hitting the ceiling. disadvantage
or use the hilt as an improvised weapon for 1d4+str

Stepping on a d4 is more painful than stepping on a d20. Which deals more damage?

@MikeQ This is why caltrops should deal 1d4 damage
You roll them out onto the battlemat and if a character wants to step on a tile they landed in, they have to take that damage.

8:44 PM
But if it was a 20-sided caltrop, would it be 1d20 damage?
If you freeze a gelatinous cube and step on it, does it do 1d6 damage?

@MikeQ I'm struck with a sudden desire to make a beastmaster ranger character, with a gelatinous cube as the companion.

that'd be adorable!
like the slimes in minecraft

lol
at least you don't have to worry about it's diet

9:23 PM
I'm off for the holidays! Have a wonderful solstice as well as enjoying any potential observances you'll be having in the next week ;)

cool beans

and a happy Festivus to you

merry hogswatch

9:51 PM
Merry Chrysler

@kviiri ASGORE CONFIRMED FOR SANTA

10:15 PM
@kviiri Good luck with AW! Real life or online?

10:29 PM
@Glazius Real life, I just can't get into the flow over the internet that well
I'm casually probing whether they'd be more interested in a post-global warming swamp world where clean water and dry land are limited, or a straightforward Mad Max
My go-to setting has been Finland suffering nuclear winter, but I'm a tad bored with it

Trail of Lightning's post-apocalyptic setting is quite novel and fun.
Or Blackfish City.
Trail of Lightning might be better suited for an AW hack though; re-skinning mutations as clan powers probably wouldn't be too hard.

10:52 PM
I like Legacy for generational post-apocalyptica, but what I really like is the Legacy hack Rhapsody of Blood for generational stop-apocalyptica.

11:04 PM
Trail of Lightning is a novel by Rebecca Roanhorse, in which the Diné (Navajo) nation walls itself off from the rest of the world as climate change causes flooding, storms, famine, and political upheaval. Within the walls of Dinétah, the old gods and clan powers return... and so do monsters.
Blackfish City is more of a cyberpunk post-apocalypse, combining privation with high tech survival solutions on a floating island-city in the North Atlantic as the rest of the world becomes uninhabitable.
And then there's Robopocalypse, where "mutations" are actually the result of people being subjected to horrific cyborg experiments by the conquering robots.
