hey there @ACuriousMind

hey there

how're things going?

Here’s what I’m playtesting

@Shalvenay Nicely, watched Hogfather with a friend and am now preparing tomorrow's RPG session
(Yes, I'm a procrastinating GM :P)

ah, extremly slowly over here
letting a few worldbuilding things rattle around my head, pondering what'd be a good premise for a hack-and-slash D&D 5e campaign...

12:31 AM
A particularly wet spring causes slime molds to turn into an infestation of oozes?

@BESW heheheh

You could have "clean the oozes out of [place]" adventures and "stop [group] from taking advantage of the chaos" missions and "find the ooze that ate my [object]" quests...
There are ooze mages and ooze gods that could come out of the woodwork.

12:52 AM
oooooooooooze

@Shalvenay otherworldly invasion. Demons or Beings from Beyond make decent acceptable targets, no?
(Esp. when you find that all the Beings from Beyond you've tackled with are just protrusions of one Elder Being into our reality as it pokes and prods at this dimension.)
Ugh. Graphic design is hard.
@BESW mind if I ping you for some advice?

Okay!

Hmm... discord is just spinning and spinning and spinning. Restarting....
@BESW do you see two recent direct messages from me?
I don't even see the messages I've just sent....

Hmm. It's weird on my end too.

1:07 AM
Okay, I guess that's good to hear. NAB, then?

Looks like a few hamsters have tripped over some wires. We’re working on the issues and will provide info on what’s been happening soon.
Aight.

Wow--you dug up that tweet from three minutes into the future! By my computer's clock, at least =)

hehehe

yeeeeeeeessssss
I forgot about that, but it is the best

1:41 AM
@nitsua60 -- war of the otherworlds? :D
Pick Your Elder Being Of Choice?

2:14 AM
@JoelHarmon still hanging at 6: 40-49 hours; 1: 50-59 hours; 1: 100+ hours. I don't really feel like this is enough for a mainsite answer, so take it for what it's worth =)

@nitsua60 This reminds me of a campaign setting: imagine Atlantis (the peak of tech & magic) but — calamity — the island sinks. Not instantly, time enough for 10,000 to escape by boat. They land scattered on the shores of a wild land, many monsters, but also various intelligent creatures. None as tech/magic adept as them. What happens next?

@Erics sounds like an exodus of the lower classes

Two possible ways this campaign could go depending on which side the PCs are on? The stalwart defenders against a technologically superior invading force, or civilised folk seeking refuge tossed by storm unto unfriendly shores?

Depends on how much tech they could bring with them. It might be "oh look! He can throw lightning!" (lserpistol), but he only has one magazine with 20 shots.

hey there @Trish and @kviiri

Hi

how're things going?

Nothing special, trying to write my thesis

RPG concept: the PCs are the crew of an airship, each with their own assigned duties. The airship is kept afloat by some highly experimental and volatile magitek prone to break at extremely inopportune times. And opportune times. Basically something explodes all the time.
Players take turns being the "Agent of Chaos" and narrating whose station suffers a catastrophic malfunction. That player's character is the focus of the next scene, and chooses another PC who happens to stumble in to help them. Together, they brave the challenges, finding out hidden subtleties in each other.

@kviiri Have you seen Space Cadets, the board game?

hey there @inthemanual

I love these character studies of Neanderthals by the artist Tom Björklund. So rarely are they pictured as if they were real people. See his blog and Facebook for more. https://www.facebook.com/tombjorklundart/ http://www.tombjorklund.fi
have some lovely art of cavepeople being people

More fictional worlds need color-changing trees.
As we near winter, the quiet charms of plants with strikingly coloured bark come into their own - which is your favourite? http://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=130

10:35 PM
welp, I hate bamboo now so not the one that looks like bamboo

@trogdor It sounds like there's a story there...?

10:57 PM
the story is that there is bamboo outside our place which my dad has an unquenchable urge to get rid of
the problem being there is a metric ton of the stuff and guess who has to toss it over a pile that has been increasing in size for about a year?
maybe more like half a year
but it has been consuming my weekend mornings as of quite a number of months, and I kinda like to be left alone on weekend mornings
so the bamboo gets some hate from me now
also a little mad at my father too, but I have not had to throw him over into the boonies hundreds of times
(crickets chirp incessantly) ok bad joke I get it :P

@trogdor Yo

@trogdor Sorry, I had to do actual work for a bit there :P
That sounds like a pretty sucky chore.

11:52 PM
@eimyr a hello to you as well
@Miniman work yes of course, the thing I should be doing instead of responding to you XD
Soooo excited for that,.... Yes
@eimyr was there a thing you wanted to discuss or was that just a yo to say yo

@trogdor just a greeting

Because I don't always know how someone means yo
Mk
I just used to know a lot of people who said hi or hello when that was all they currently needed to say, and yo was reserved for " i need to talk to you about something"
But here, and more often lately in general, I realize it can also just mean hi
