Uh... It seams java vulnerability of the week is gone... but it got so bad that at one point in 2013 it was not a question of if there was a vulnerability, but of what the next one would be

My wife has been texting me all afternoon. Apparently licensing is going well and she wants to take a bit of a vacation. ... this was understood with the FIRST 100 messages.

I have two integers in my program; let's call them "a" and "b". I would like to add them together and get another integer as a result. These are regular Python int objects. I'm wondering; how do I add them together with Twisted? Is there a special performAsynchronousAddition function somewher...
(Worth noting though is that with spawnProcess, Twisted does provide a little support for CPU-bound tasks, by converting them into I/O bound tasks and then communicating with them the same way. But this is a good explanation nonetheless.) — GlyphSep 6 '11 at 4:16
As a friend and neighbor, I'm begging you: Please do not spawn a process for the purpose of adding two integers. — IfLoopSep 6 '11 at 4:49
The cursed rock: It is a rock. It's heavy. It's cursed. The curse is that you cannot drop it. This is all it does. That and make you incredibly paranoid about ever picking up rocks.
@BESW Well, in D&D it'd be boring as hell, in NetHack encumbrance is a big deal so the cursed rock means you can't wear the best armors, carry a great variety of gear and food, hold onto all your spellbooks, etc.
Can Nethack let you use it as a boomerang, though? "Thrown away and magically returns" is interesting in the "figure out narrative loopholes and exploits for mechanical effects" attitude of 3.5.
@doppelgreener Isn't that the point of NetHack and similar games? "You will die. Probably horribly. But how far will you get before you do?"
Pixel Dungeon is my current favourite Roguelike (or NetHack-like) game. It's on Android & is free. I once got up to level 20 before dying, which was enough to unlock the other character class. Every other time, I'm lucky if I get to lvl 5...
@Smurfton Yeah, the cursed rock is unique. Cursed armor can't be removed, and cursed weapons fuse themselves to your hands, but a cursed rock simply cannot be dropped once picked up.
@doppelgreener There's definitely an Android emulator out there somewhere, though.
@Tritium21 That's weird; I haven't noticed a single [optimization] tag. On the other hand, I've never played nwod, and that's more than half the questions, I swear.
I've been working on translating a program line for line from Turbo Pascal to C, but I've apparently made some mistakes, and the version I copied from wasn't a perfect transcription of the original program. I'd like to ask about certain sections of code that I believe have a mistake within them, ...
@Tritium21 I ignore the most popular D&D tags, so my main page is 80% greyed out.
I'll answer generic D&D stuff because I remember stuff and can do research, but any recent edition already has tons of people who are actively playing and interested to answer the questions.
Funny thing is, I was under the impression that all answers that only have single enter breaks and and an email were automatically marked as spam. They must be learning.
I was actually kinda confused, I was like 'I'm not meant to flag now that I can close vote' looked through close vote reasons for a spam option, then decided I should stick to flags
In the brainstorm mechanic, you compete to establish facts about the puzzle which will inform the final conclusion about its nature (and thus how to solve it).
Have you ever known that someone was vitally misunderstanding things, but you could not convince them that they were misunderstanding it despite your best efforts?
you're implying 7/16ths of the internet actually involves trying to engage in a mutual communication with the person, instead of shouting into an echo chamber and/or readily receptive audience about how that other person is a butt
I'm very curious to see how their approach to roleplaying fits with Fate by default.

We've had a lot of discussions here that revolve around the idea that Fate fits more closely to the way players want to play from the outset. I'm curious to see how it holds in practice.
