🔎 La femme visite Paris.
🔎 La femme rend visite à sa grand-mère.
➡️ Hello there. I have two questions about these two sentences (I've seen these sentences and some other sentences like them in #RosettaStoneTOTALe):
1️- It seems to me, that one always says "rend visite à" about visiting people but says only "visite" about visiting locations. Is it true?
2️- What is the meaning of "rend visite à", and what is its different with "rend"? Does "rend visite à" mean "to pay a visit to" and/or "to make a visit from"?

@jlliagre "A reason is probably the lack of preposition that suggests there is some sort of identity between nous and samedi." -> Definitely agreed. I think that's what makes the impersonal "it" seem so suitable in English -- if we're going to assert identity between X and a day of the week, X should probably have no content :)
Thanks for the notes -- interesting that other subjects are equally puzzling. Suggests to me that in this context, "on" and "nous" are indeed impersonal (contrary to the usual colloquial use of "on"). But I guess it's a moot point since we just have to learn to say it either way...
@Qàtrè Could you ask these as questions on the actual site? I'm sure no one minds answering them here, but they might as well serve as public / easily referenced knowledge
You could do a search to make sure it's not a duplicate, but besides that, I think they're well-formed, suitable questions for the site
