@Elmy I think it will be helpful to take a look at area51 Pets proposal...It can give ideas about the aspirations of the people (who had purposed the site) about the site and why they thought it will be successful.
I've got an answer from the CMs. They want a few words about the community in general. Some examples include "we have had an inspiring journey" or "Site X went on showing throughout the beta that a community for X is not only viable, but can be approached in a friendly and welcoming way while keeping a high quality site."
"thanks to to every single one of the users who posted, edited, voted, commented, reviewed, and performed other actions." and "Our community has been dedicated to providing a high-quality library of questions and answers around X".
@JourneymanGeek Your sense of humour is a bit fishy. Really, you should be ashamed of yourself; what are you going to do when your soul is weighed on the scales?
OK, here's a first draft. I'm not happy with the last sentence, but I didn't come up with anything better.
"The Pets community is a bit Koi to oh-fish-ially leave the Betta label behind. Puns aside, our focus has always been on improving the life of all kinds of pets and their human companions. Over the past years, we not only shared insights into the most common behavioral problems, but we also tackled unique challenges in the care for individual pets and even prepared scientific and veterinary knowledge to be easily understandable.
To be recognized for these efforts fills us with pride and encourages us to continue helping people and their pets alike."
Otherwise your first sentence is disagreeing with the rest.
Hmm. If the problem with the last sentence is it's too prideful, maybe: "We appreciate the recognition for these efforts as it encourages us to continue helping people and their pets alike."" ?
Also maybe "pets and pet owners alike" is a bit less awkward than "people and their pets alike", imo.
