1:06 PM
SALUTATIONS MORTALS AND/OR NON-MORTALS.
MANY SALUTATIONS. AT LEAST TWO.

TWO? TWO?
WAVES THE BOOK OF ARMAMENTS
THE NUMBER OF COUNTING IS THREE

AT LEAST, YES!
THREE IS AT LEAST TWO!

1:40 PM
hmm... why is this book ticking?
Counts to 3 and yeets it

1:55 PM
So how are people?

2:08 PM
Am ok
Ho are you @Sarov?

Frustrated.
Been weeks and this is still a problem.

:(
I'm amused that my dad apparently thought that "highland cows are those tiny fuzzy cows right?" (I love the baby cows and share pictures in the family chatroom when I come across highland cattle calves)

@Sarov Stackoverflow can solve nearly any problem but when it cant you are screwed :(
@JourneymanGeek Did someone say tiny cow?

@SerenaT Bit of a story there :D
This picture was viral, and at some point I was carrying my doggo like that
so my dad assumed they didn't get bigger

2:23 PM
@JourneymanGeek It wont let me see it without an account :(

Aww yeee
They are really cute, but that must still be heavier than a dog

@SerenaT Yeap. Doesn't help that there's a disconnect between me (who knows what the problem is) and IT (who's able to fix it).

@SerenaT They get a lot bigger

@JourneymanGeek I know but that calf looks heavy af

2:27 PM
Oh
I should also point out

@Sarov That is really annoying

MY DAD HAD A PET COW IN THE OLD COUNTRY

@JourneymanGeek Oh! That is my dream!

@SerenaT Well yes but I wasn't carrying a cow
I was carrying a (at worst) 10kg doggo
and that was at his chonkiest

@JourneymanGeek That is doable

2:28 PM
quite
I think I can manage a small dog if things line up
Not a cow :D

2:41 PM
though
there's stories of someone renting a jersey cow for a houswarming in an apartment...
tnp.sg/news/others/… better photos but its a condo, so rich people :D

Condos are for rich people?

Out here, yeah
90% of people live in public housing
(I'm half certain the little HDB (public housing) apartment I'll be moving in 2023... shoulda been next year :( is about a tenth what it would be if it was a condo.

I see.

@JourneymanGeek And the woman is planning to keep the “blessing” in the freshly renovated floor for three days? Uh… that must be a pretty strong belief.

@Stephie ol time religion I guess
But folks would clean places with cowdung so....
(mostly external or dirt floors... and there eventually a few... odd beliefs like cowdung stops radiation... that cropped up)
@Stephie Its also not common. I think 3-4 news reports in the last... 2 decades?
I'm more amused at the person who went "small cow, fits in lift, lets rent it out to people for prayers in apartments that were meant for big open village spaces"

2:53 PM
We bought a house built by a family with a last name that translates to “luck”. While we were waiting for the approval, I found a four-leaved clover, which is also a symbol of luck.

@Stephie new place is in a new neighbourhood they're developing

Since then our house is slowly in the process of getting a name (which is unusual here).

Was supposed to be finished Q3 next year but got delayed to latish Q4 due to covid

@JourneymanGeek business opportunity. Clever, in a certain way.

3:04 PM
@JourneymanGeek that’s ambitious!

@Stephie they've done a few from scratch new towns
(Pedestrian friendly is nice. Pity I can't get a bigger apartment as a single person, but people do nice with the space)
Oh
and central aircon.
At the moment though, my apartment is probably a few tons of concrete in bags, rebar and good intentions
(also lots of parks and green spaces... so If I eventually get a dog, it would be at least alright :D )
My current neighbourhood is perfect but I can't afford a place in the area.
I'm hoping once they get a handle on covid, they de-postpone the build date a little

3:33 PM
@JourneymanGeek Why do you assume the intentions are good?

Cause they are actually going to build it 😅
And hopefully not replace my apartment with a portal to a dimension of unending pain

Porque no los dos?
