Hey Pets Stack -- I'm looking for recommendations for dog boots for winter walks. Yorkshire Terrier at a whopping 4 lb. Does anyone have a brand or style they would recommend?

@C.Lange Hi welcome to Pets and our chat, I don't know anything about boots but there are some people in this chat @Stephie who are dog owners and should visit soon.
@JacobB Maybe this fish isn't that fancy but using "i" to visualize eye and vertical cranial bone is genius idea.
<i⊃Au<

@lila Ha! I didn't think about that much detail, I just saw the letter "i" staring at me from my keyboard and so I thought that it might make a good fish eye. :)

@JacobB <i)IIII><

'o'
The fish with many eyes
actually "i"-s, not eyes
<jb]]]]{

@JacobB haha I didn't get it until you explicitly said it's about eyes/i's, my IQ is too low :D

:)

@JacobB "JB" that you used in this fish makes it personal, almost as if that's new unknown species of fish that you discovered, or invented in fact, and in 100 years it will be named after you: "it's JB fish, named after Jacob 'clarification' B".

@C.Lange welcome! @lila is putting a bit too much faith in me here, in the past, we / husband’s family never used booties and we currently don’t plan to start with the puppy. However, we are talking about a GSD here, so a robust enough breed. We will get him used to paw wax or balm, just to prevent cracks and such. What makes you think that your dog would benefit from shoes? With ours, I bet he’d be just trying to chew them off. Sigh.
We have the paw-wiping after walks pretty much down pat, we will probably add a quick rinse (dunk paw in a can or small bucket, swish a bit) as next step in preparation of salt on the roads and muddy season.

@Stephie -- she's already started doing the whole one paw up shiver thing while we walk. Usually when I stop to pick up poop or something. I don't know how to test if the ground is too cold but it's only about -5°C at the moment. I'm wondering when we get around -20°C.
She's an inside dog (apartment) so walking is the only time she's on snow or ice. I've always been in the mindset that dogs don't need boots, they're animals made for the outdoors, but my parents dogs are huskies. I don't think Yorkies are really need for northern climates lol
