Q: My dog screams bloody murder when we take our other dog out

Bree JohnsonSo we have three dogs ages 5, 3, and 7 months. We take the two older dogs outside to go potty at the same time and take the puppy separately because she gets distracted to easily. Whenever we take the puppy out our 3 year old starts jumping on the gate and screaming as loud as he can absolutely f...

@YvetteColomb - I just wanted you to know that the plastic mesh is protecting the worst of the lawn and allowing it to recover some. Yay! (I didn't pin it down; instead I put down two layers - in some places three - which slide a bit on each other, which Max doesn't like, so he slows down to a trot once close to the mesh.) The ground is now frozen for longer periods of time, which helps as well. So glad for your expertise. :)

@anongoodnurse oh good news! Thanks so much for that feedback. I'm so glad it helped
the crusher dust has worked a treat in my paddock

1 hour later…
9:35 AM
My lawn was frosty this morning

9:46 AM
The pond was fine though :D

Good morning :)

10:04 AM
@RichieACC Good morn!
How are the snails? Both land and water?

They're all good. I'm hoping the terrestrials have laid all their eggs for the season. I don't think the dude is going to take more of them off my hands :p

Haha, how do you stop them breeding?

You don't. One mating can last them for years.

Well, I hope you like snails then :P

I'm busy setting up a 'scaped tank. I got some seeds and substrate this weekend. I don't know what seeds though. I have 4 different types. I've planted samples of each, so I can see what they look like and plan how I want it to look.

10:11 AM
Will the snails just eat all the plants though?

I still have the tadpoles as well. I'm curious to see what they become.

ooo, I haven't seen those!

@Henders They will. That's why there are none in that tank. It's just the substrate and plants so far. Not even water. Just a little to keep the plants going. Apparently they do better if germinated in air, then submerged once they're established.
I think I have 16 of them. I suspect they're African clawed frogs.
I'm scaping the 30l tank. I want to put shrimp in there and a shoal of tiny fish. Maybe some Assassin snails.

@RichieACC Awww they're cute! :P

I got them out of a pond where the goats are staying now.

10:17 AM
Maybe @trondhansen gets tadpoles in the pond?
@RichieACC Have they moved now?

Yeah. My mom's neighbour invoked municipal by-laws and got authorities involved, etc. So we've relocated them to a small-holding nearby for now.

Ouch, that's a shame. Were they loud or something?

They do bleat, like sheep. But they're no more noisy than this woman's dog. She's just one of those really nasty people. A few weeks ago she set her dog on children who were playing in the street.

10:55 AM
Hmm, should have called the dog warden

@Henders i have toads and frogs overwinering in my pond and when spring comes they do produce eggs and tadpoles, the toads in my pond and the frogs in what i intended to be a stream/plant filter(the salamanders do lay their eggs in the plant filter/stream too so i never get to use the stream for filtration of my pond)

@Henders We don't have that here

frogs-toads and salamanders are protected where i live and so are the grass snakes feeding on tadpoles :)

I don't think we have salamanders here either!
Do not Google "South African Salamander"

i did not know we had salamanders here before i made my pond :)
what i call salamanders is called newts, and we have two types of them.

11:20 AM
It's not pet related, but I had to share :p

:) dominoes.so this is why the topping ends up on one side of the pizza.

@trondhansen Oooo you have salamanders! that's cool!

11:44 AM
male and female of the most common salamanders we have here, top is female below is male.
they are about 5 cm long.

I've seen one in the UK once

12:01 PM
@Henders you too have a garden pond so expect the unexpected when it comes to wildlife :)

Yep! I super excited about how it will do in spring :D

12:38 PM
Neat

A friend sent that to me. He now wants to get striped covers for his bed. I think that's genius.

1:09 PM
Here is a live feed of a gepard having babies in a zoo in Norway youtube.com/watch?v=65my5bTttX0

Oh, that's cute!

I can't access YouTube from work :'(

it will be live for several weeks,@RichieACC nothing have happened yet so you will be able to watch it when you comes home from work :)

Ok, cool!
Yay!

1:28 PM
the last time she had babies was in 2016,she had 5 babies sadly one was stillborn :(
the zoo is a part of an international breeding program,a few years ago a siberian tiger named bonya had 3 babies.
2 girls and 1 boy.

A few years ago I was living on a smallholding right next to a zoo. One Sunday morning, the zoo phoned me to tell me to stay inside, and get all my pets inside. One of their cheetahs has escaped her cage, jumped the fence, and was strolling around in my back yard.

@Henders oh, its actually indian borage
Ash can't resist rolling in it or my mom's favourite perfume

Haha, that's funny, like he thinks it is the pack scent

Indian Borage a.k.a. Mexican Mint... Somehow doesn't want to compute...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plectranthus_amboinicus

Cuban oregano
Country borage
French thym
Indian borage
Indian mint
Mexican mint
Soup mint
Spanish thyme
Thick leaf thyme or broad leaf thyme

Seems nobody can make up their mind where it's from or what to call it :D

@RichieACC and the plant is native to... africa?

1:39 PM
I've had some in a garden, once, I think. It may have been regular borage.

@Henders he likes my mom. Though he also used to steal her silk sarees to sleep in
