Q: Is it normal for a husky to shed large patches of fur in the summer?

The pictures I have are too large to upload but there are large patches of fur shedding to the point where there is just thin short hair left. Brought her to the vet today and they said there was likely nothing wrong since she isn't itching and there are no sores on her skin. Is this kind of shed...

Hello, could someone guide me here pets.stackexchange.com/questions/20800/… please? My common sense tells me that I should take the puppies off the hole and to put them in a cleaner place. But I could be wrong, maybe they are safe and sound living in the hole. I don't know.

@Michelle on one hand, that sounds a lot like a wild dog/wolf den

on the other, most folks do actually have a clean/seperate area for it

is she an outdoor dog?

@JourneymanGeek no, I've her since she was a puppy, she lives in my house.

Do you think that living in the hole may affect their health?

I think its a bad idea?

It feels instinctual - wolves do it

but most people have a dark, quiet, warm area set aside for it indoors

they have a dog house in the yard actually, which I think it's comfortable. But she decided to cave a hole and give birth there..

ah, well, most folks actually set up somewhere in the house. Puppies dont quite have immunity, and outdoors has... bugs and other animals

Yes. I was playing around with filters, and this one looked funny, so I kept it.

She's doing better today. Rice and chicken seems to help an upset stomach.

@JourneymanGeek I couldn't work out what you meant :P Then I realised, live streams of puppies. Originally I was thinking of some kind of stream that puppies swam down.

@RebeccaRVT it was all over the eastern parts of norway,the firebrigade was not too impressed :) and we might have a replay this evening,last time it was this dry was 71 years ago so if the lightening strikes it will burn.
