@rene On various feeds I am currently getting "Site didn't respond". Such as: lackadaisical-appeal.glitch.me/hnq/mathoverflow.net or lackadaisical-appeal.glitch.me/hnq/math.stackexchange.com
I see that some problems have been mentioned on Meta Stack Exchange, too:

A: Mobile app infrastructure being decommissioned

reneWill the end-point https://stackexchange.com/hot-questions-for-mobile also be shutdown? I ask because I run a service on Glitch to feed hot questions into several Chat rooms around the network. See How can I add Hot Network Questions (HNQ) to a chat room feed? for its features. Currently its data...

I'm using it too though I have an alternative; it started out by scraping stackexchange.com/?pagesize=50 and the second page. — Glorfindel ♦ Oct 25 at 19:34
Looks like we will be keeping this route. The plan is rename it to hot-questions-json with a redirect from hot-questions-for-mobile. — animuson ♦ Nov 12 at 16:17
@animuson according to my logs, the redirect stopped working about an hour ago. — Glorfindel ♦ 10 hours ago
@Glorfindel Mmm, there was no redirect before. Those changes just went live and it looks like the redirect got entered as "hot-questions-mobile" instead of "hot-questions-for-mobile" which understandably isn't helpful. Will ping. — animuson ♦ 10 hours ago
@animuson right, thank you. I've already adapted my script :) — Glorfindel ♦ 10 hours ago

Q: Is an "exact" double hybrid density the same as the "exact" DFT density?

Kanghun KimDouble hybrid approximate functionals have "unoccupied" Kohn-Sham orbitals in their formulations due to their MP2 component; however, the "exact functional" depends only on the "occupied" K-S orbitals. Thus the only way double hybrid approximations could approximate the "exact" functional is that...

@MartinSleziak endpoint updated, it now works again

Thanks for the response!
I suppose after some time the chatrooms and feeds will notice that there are new questions and post them.
It certainly worked yesterday.

Q: How was Claim 5 in "A non-linear generalisation of the Loomis–Whitney inequality and applications" thought up?

kathy4kIn Bennett, Carbery and Wright's paper A non-linear generalisation of the Loomis–Whitney inequality and applications, Claim 5 was used to generalise the case from characteristic functions to simple functions. I figured that through direct calculations, we can obtain $$\int_U\displaystyle\prod_{j=...

Q: -5^2 again, why oh why?

XavierI know this has been discussed before (Why is $-5^2=-25$?) but this makes no sense in my head, maybe someone can clarify. To me $-5^2$ means the number $-5$ (a number in $\mathbb R$), squared. It's not $0 - 5^2$ where $-$ is an operation. Put in other words: $x^2$ with $x=-5$ How come $-5^2$ is t...

@MartinSleziak yeah, I had on my to-do list to make some changes to be to able cope with 302 redirect responses for this weekend, not knowing they would roll out changes this soon. Now I made this change: glitch.com/edit/#!/…

Q: Humor in a personal statement

Lazarus98As I write personal statements for graduate school, I want to highlight my hard work through humor and also just show my personality. As someone who works full time (in order to fund my education) as a carpenter and does research/studies in their free time while working towards a masters degree, ...
