@Damon I don't think you can take just the human DNA, because the resulting organism wouldn't have any mitochondria and nothing would work.. but it's a reasonable point!
@Nosajimiki true that; though I thought the question was establishing some constraints about the ease of storing and transporting the massive ensuing volumes so taking some smaller aspect from which the whole organism can be reconstructed might be "easier for the user" if the user is the alien scientist..
