@Ausername is it good to have the basic operators like +, -, *, /, modulo and such things in a different color?
A username
Constants and digraphs are in a different color - everything else is just a function of some sort so I don't see any point.
Unrelated String
you could have a different color for plain stack/variable effects
math
and for the registry commands?
Unrelated String
but yeah i wouldn't say there's any particular reason to distinguish
+-*/whatevermodit
*s
yeah

Here
's the CodeMirror version, for reference. I've kinda left the other version.

The problem is, there's a flash of style-less content while it loads...
(I'm trying to integrate it)
Anyway 'night.

How does the vyxal dictionary work actually? as there is no special indicator, how does e.g
ƈṡ, ƛ€!
translate to "Hello, World!"? what if I want to print just
ƈṡ, ƛ€!
?
lyxal
Dictionary explanation time!
Okay so whenever you have two non-ascii chars next to each other, it treats it as a custom base-161 integer
Because that's how many non-ascii characters are in the code page
It then indexes into the dictionary at the base 10 representation of the custom base161 integer
Ascii is left alone
But then how do you accomplish the second example of just straight up printing the non-ascii stuff?
Well it's simple
You just escape it using \
Stupid markdown
math
@lyxal like
this
?
lyxal
@math it should be
Try it Online!
But that doesn't seem to be working
Meaning there's a bug
Dang
Er, the
D
flag disables dictionary compression altogether
math
thanks
@lyxal it's in the utilities file, isn't it?
lyxal
12:18
@math yes, but I think I know what the problem is
math
12:30
@lyxal err.. what's the problem. everything seems fine except that you're first checking if escaped is True before setting it to True.
Aaron Miller
@math I can't say for certain, but I would guess that it was broken by
this commit
. @lyxal?
lyxal

the string needs decompressing
before
escaping
Aaron Miller
@lyxal Is the automatic site reload still not working?
lyxal
I don't think so
I followed the tutorial, but it doesn't work
Aaron Miller
Ight, I think I'll check it out.

@lyxal Vyxal site auto updating is fixed :)
I'm not sure why it wasn't working, but I just deleted
post-merge
and recreated it, and now it works

Here's a
really
useful Vyxal program

@AaronMiller Wait, how?
Please tell me lyxal didn't hardcode a rickroll into Vyxal

@Ausername I was quite happy when I noticed that very... "familiar" link in the source :p

I fully approve of what A Username did, and I would have done it myself otherwise
