Hm... I could just setup a heroku proxy server

why not host it on my server

Because what happens if your server crashes again?

Lyxal deleted branch Vyxal/documentation-update

3:32 AM
@hyper-neutrino because it'd need to have its own webhooks to update from the repo

Lyxal opened PR #355 (Vyxal/Vyxal) (Vyxal:main → Vyxal:production): Update production (9/12/2021)

What I'm making is basically a github proxy server that requests plaintext from raw.github.com and outputs the same text with a CSS/JS content header

@emanresuA that's quite uncommon
but yeah, if it's static, just put it on a more consistent static host

It is static, so that's what we're looking for

Is it, since it needs the occasional bugfix?

3:39 AM
well like you can just change it
point is it doesn't need to do any backend computation it just loads a static file, and that file might change

Actually never mind, what I was thinking was a bad idea
'cos I'd prefer not to have this server used for memcached ddos attacks
And an API token is almost impossible to hide
(in frontend js files)

@emanresuA as in, it isn't dynamically generated.
Just host it on github pages

A: How to link files directly from Github (raw.github.com)

jekewaAdd a branch your project using the name "gh-pages" and then you'll (shortly after branching) be able to use a direct URL such as https://username.github.io/project/master/style.css (using your URL, and assuming "style.css" is a file in the "master" folder in the root of your "project" repository...

Ok, will do that

just make it a gist ezclap

We want it to auto update, and I can just do that by making vylight's main branch gh-pages

4:18 AM
Lyxal merged PR #355 (Vyxal/Vyxal) (Vyxal:main → Vyxal:production): Update production (9/12/2021)

It was just a docs update it's fine

4:34 AM
@PyGamer0 lmao

Can't believe we're being beaten by 2 tacit languages by a single rank
So sad alexa play despacito

and ngn/apl for instance looks like this: github.com/abrudz/ngn-apl/blob/master/apl.js
the whole thing is just one file

ಠ_ಠ lgtm uses an ES5 syntax highlighter

5:02 AM
@Razetime bruh
@Razetime how to check that?

just request on lgtm

5:48 AM
^ i am very mad
:/

something ain't good with functions

chunkybanana opened issue #357 in Vyxal/Vyxal: `^` is broken

!!/issue Functions and scoping sometimes disagree Protip: refer to how the old interpreter does things. And for reference: vyxal.pythonanywhere.com/… bug

Vyxal-Bot opened issue #358 in Vyxal/Vyxal: Functions and scoping sometimes disagree

2 hours later…
10:51 AM
we need an evalf built-in
that's something that displays a number to n decimal places

1 hour later…
12:17 PM
hey guys anyone know why
def VAR_f(arg_stack, self, arity=-1, ctx=None):
    parameters = []
    parameters += wrapify(arg_stack, 1, ctx)

    stack = parameters[::]

    ctx.inputs.pop()
    ctx.stacks.pop()
    return stack

pass

def VAR_g(arg_stack, self, arity=-1, ctx=None):
gives

    exec(code)

also why does
def VAR_f(arg_stack, self, arity=-1, ctx=None):
    this = VAR_f
    parameters = []
    parameters += wrapify(arg_stack, 1, ctx)

    stack = parameters[::]

    ctx.stacks.pop()
    return stack

pass

def VAR_g(arg_stack, self, arity=-1, ctx=None):
give

NameError: name 'VAR_g' is not defined
because it's causing #358

12:32 PM
What does pasting that transpiled code into TIO do?

errors obviously
because stack isn't defined/sympy isn't imported, context doesn't exist
and wrapify and pop aren't defined

If you run it in its own python file locally?
Because I jave a feeling this is eval being wonky

same thing happens because it doesn't have the extra stuff

Wdym
Can you temporarily put it inside the vyxal folders itself and run?

I'll do so tomorrow

12:36 PM
Or nvm, I’ll try at home later

it's 11:36pm and I've been trying to get to bed earlier lol

👍

because midnight ain't healthy for me
!!/'night

@lyxal o/

This is their most bizarre issue
@lyxal o/ lol

2 hours later…

8 hours later…
11:50 PM
@rues it runs normally when placed inside main.py
Meaning it's weird exec jank

What would you like to learn?
