A comment under a recent nomination: mathoverflow.net/q/430839
> Regarding your response to Q3., by "the page for (ag.algebraic-geometry)" I think you mean the tag info page, showing the excerpt and wiki, right? So, if I understand you correctly, you would like to see a more detailed tag usage guidance added to the wiki?
There was a recent question on meta:

Q: Tags for which is required a description

user142929When you click on the tab Tags sorted by the most popular, this link of MathOverflow in few pages one realizes that some popular tags have not a description, for example the third page shows the tag (sheaf-theory), (hyperbolic-geometry) and (large-cardinals) without a description dor these tags. ...

It is now deleted.
Maybe I scared away the OP by my comments.
I do not see the deleted posts. But if I remember correctly, my comments were along the lines that:
1. The suggestion is something which isn't really needed - since a mechanism to edit tag-wikis already exists. (For users below 20k+, the edit must be approved in the suggested edits review queue.)

2. The tag-wikis are mainly needed if the name of the tag is ambiguous. If the intended usage of the tag is clear from the tag name, then it's perfectly fine to have an empty tag-wiki.
My impression was that this was general consensus - both on MO and network-wide.
If things like this need to be discussed again, maybe a fresh discussion on meta would be useful. (So I apologize for scaring away this particular user.)

@MartinSleziak Do you recall what the OP was proposing in the post? I'm just curious.

@TheAmplitwist Basically you can see some of that in screenshot.
In more detail (as far as I remember).
1. There are some tags which have more-or-less empty tag-info.
2. Let us collect in answers to this post proposals how the tag-info for some tag could look like.
3. After that, the users with sufficient reputation can edit the tag-info according to the version created on meta.

Ah, okay. Thanks

I would guess that my comments (along the lines: "This already exists - via suggested edits) weren't completely non-sensical.
But I did not explicitly suggest that the question should be deleted - that was the OP's decision.

I would take it that OP didn't know that edits could be suggested on tag wikis, so it answered the problem they were trying to solve. Of course, such a Meta thread might even be useful if, say, there is a concerted effort to fill up the tag wikis and excerpts properly.
