@PraphullaKoushik I added it as a parent tag, not to mean that you require algebraic geometry examples. The other two tags are too narrow; the parent tags I had in mind are ct.category-theory, at.algebraic-topology, ag.algebraic-geometry, and dg.differential-geometry, it's better with at least one of these (or another broad one) and don't hesitate changing. The tag not only yields an orientation, but makes the question visible. — YCor 1 hour ago
On the of-chance that @PraphullaKoushik occasionally looks into this room, I will mention that this is related to the top-level tags; which is a topic we talked about before.

Q: Why are MO tags formatted as they are?

NewbI noticed that some of the more frequently used MO tags are formatted according to a certain pattern, e.g.: nt.number-theory pr.probability lo.logic fa.functional-analysis Why are the tags formatted like this? Are they shortcuts for user convenience?

A: Frequently asked questions about tagging on MathOverflow

Ricardo AndradeHere are some comments to start off on question 3. Feel free to edit. What are top level tags, and why should I try to use them? The top level tags are tags like nt.number-theory and at.algebraic-topology which begin with a two letter code. They roughly follow their arXiv counterparts, from whi...

We exchange some comments about this in the past.

It is recommended to use top-level tags for several reasons - see meta: Frequently asked questions about tagging on MathOverflow and Why are MO tags formatted as they are?.

@MartinSleziak even I was not sure what other tags are appropriate to add.. I will see other questions similar to this, see what tags they have added and will add if I get to see any relevant tags.. thanks for your suggestion.. it is very reasonable,.

@PraphullaKoushik Since we talked about suitable top-level tags for questions about stacks (and gerbes), I'll add that stacks are explicitly listed as one of the topics in the ag.algebraic-geometry tag-info.

However, it seems from @DenisNardin's response and @DavidRoberts' edit/retag, that your questions are probably closer to .
I'll just repeat here the relevant part of this FAQ item: What are the advantages of proper tagging?

A: Frequently asked questions about tagging on MathOverflow

user9072What are the advantages of proper tagging? The purpose of tagging is (at least) two-fold. One purpose is quite obvious. The tags are shown prominently below the question, when one looks at a lists of questions such as on the front-page, and thus can be used convey something about its content ...

> Thus, using appropriate tags one can increase ones chances that users competent to answer the question, or just interested in it, will notice the question in the first place. Conversely, using only very specialized tags (which likely almost nobody specifically favorited, subscribed to, etc) or worse just newly created tags, one might miss a chance to give visibility to ones question.
OTOH the has 76 watchers (followers) and the tag has 12 watchers - so it seems that there are quite a few people on the site interested in these topics.
